TOPS use mostly 1095 high carbon, which you can get a hell of a edge on. As far as workhorses, I’d probably say that ZT and Ravencrest OTF. Which use S30V stainless and D2 stainless
This is good info, thank you. I’ve never actually looked into ZT but, forgot until you mentioned it, I have seen the videos for the 0223. This is more along the lines of what I’m talking about, I think.
It seems to be sold out most places though. Are there similar/reputable/trustworthy sites as gunbroker for knives?

I carry a Kaiser blade, some people call it a sling blade.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.

The one you can get your hands on.
I have an old Spyderco I keep at my desk and a SOG in the truck. The SOG gets carried more. Wouldn’t mind having a nicer EDC knife.

This is how I feel with my current, and the few others I’ve kept over the years. Nothing overly nice or an overt collection, because I had to start extremely cheap. I’ve basically kept “useful” tools instead of having a collection. But, I also wouldn’t mind having a better everyday/overall useful knife.
Eta: terrible at initial grammar and don’t reread for message board posts.

Only if you eat mustard on your french fried taters and sausage and biscuits.

This knife did everything.
Well at least four, for sure.
Too soon?

Got a Kershaw Leek based on someone’s recommendation on here for EDC. Love it.

This is the one I've carried for about twenty-five years. Swiss Army "Champion." (Or "SwissChamp" is what it's called these days.) It has pretty much anything you could need. Before anyone calls it "overkill" on gadgets, I have found a need for every blade and gadget on this knife at some point at home, out fishing or hunting, or in the field at work.
It has no serrated blade, but that's fine with me. I like to keep my cutting blades razor sharp and honing a serrated blade is a true pain in the arse, so I'm just as happy to not have one to deal with.
The magnifying glass and tweezers are particularly helpful when it's cold outside and you're hunting and you need to relieve your bladder. (At least, they're helpful for ME when it's cold like that.)

Spyderco half regular half serrated edc knife does fantastic for me. If I don't lose it for another 2 years or so I'll get one of the really nice Benchmark knives.

Some knife makers are making small fixed blades with deep pocket sheaths that you can carry on belt or pocket.
I personally prefer a fixed to a folder.
Check out Toor Knives and Amtac Knives.
Toor’s Viper model is great, and the Amtac Northman is also great.

Morakniv Companion. You can do pretty much everything with it and it's only $17

I only carry a knife while in the woods or on a hike. Everyday use there’s several utility knives in my tool box in the truck, or more likely a pair of scissors

Probably not for you but in my line of work...

I’ve tried to carry a Swiss Army, but never really found any use for much other than the small knife/Flathead screw driver head, on the rare occasion. Also, the tweezers for a roach clip
It actually sounds like you found a lot of use for it. You can cut something, fix small appliances, and be a degenerate drug user all in one day. You can’t do that with a regular pocket knife

I have a couple of Gerber multi-tools that get a lot of use.
