The number is down so much because mexicans and minorities make up such a large percentage of births these days. Whites are the circumcision holdouts.

It would be weird to be circumcised and have to teach your uncircumcised son how to properly wash the smegma out of his foreskin when you've never had to do it.

It's not that I've seen it on Facebook just that the only times I have seen articles or read about these women they fit this "Facebook mom" stereotype. You know... stay at home all day, think they have a voice to change the world with types

What's the risk of not driving vs driving? Not eating meat vs eating meat? Etc, etc.

We do tons of much riskier yet still unnecessary things because they make our lives easier or better.

Whatever you decide, remember that if you choose circumcision, he'll be emboldened to fervently defend the practice in future TD threads like this.

I'm not a hard-up advocate against it, but I do think it's a bit odd how it suddenly became en vogue in America in so quick a time. Your great grand pappy sure didn't have a v neck.

This is what I was thinking - none of the men in my family were circumcised - I used to have to help my mom change my grandpa’s diapers when he was bedridden

I found out about my dad Bc my grandma was telling my cousin none of her boys were circumcised - and there was no reason to do that

Many more dick puppetry options, for one.

cut dudes can't gross their partners out with the "hungry baby bird" or the "large mouth bass" and are relegated to just slapping it against her forehead every now and then like some sort of loser creep.

Because it is a religious practice. Part of the covenant with the Jews. Women had pain during childbirth, men were circumcised to take away pleasure during sex.

All bc Eve got Adam to eat the forbidden fruit.

Not so. There is no hygienic reason to do it.

If you want to do it, good on you. If you don’t, good on you. The question first asked was “what’s the reason for not circumcising your kid?” That has been answered. There doesn’t appear to be a right or wrong answer. It’s just your preference.

FWIW, the UK has a circumcision rate of less than 10% so the aesthetics argument put forward by several is entirely dependent on location and custom. Which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. Just means it’s very location specific.

Going through a circumcision at 28 i think every kid should be circumcised

I'd be interested to know what it was like going through 28 years with a foreskin.

Four groups of people participate in circumcision:

Jews
Muslims
Africans
Americans

The rest of the world doesn’t participate

This is just a false equivalence. It is necessary to drive in America to function. Plenty choose to eat no meat but you have to get the vitamins and minerals from something that you would otherwise get from meat.

There is literally no medical reason necessitating circumcision. Nor does it make your life better or worse. It’s really not a big deal.

if you get turned down once, just once, because of not being circumcised, it's justifiable

There is tons of research that says otherwise and it's just common sense. There isn't a turtleneck trapping smegma in there, thus it is easier to clean.

And the STD transmission rate being lower.
