I woke up in Mammoth, CA to 0 degrees and blizzard warnings. We almost didn't get down the mountain. Ended the day in Death Valley where it was 85. It was an LSU trip and I know a few other posters were on the same trip.

In general, my arse isn’t flying TO somewhere cold unless BR is having unseasonable weather and I am coming back from Florida or Arizona.

During one of the big winter events, and I am guessing here(83,86,96, 9?) we had one of those arctic outbreaks where the polar air just pours down from Canada. Both Montana and La set a record 24 hour temp drop. I wish i could remember more.

Went from a job site in Arizona to a job site in Oklahoma due to a last minute change by a client. Went from 70 degrees to -5 with the wind chill.

Touring the Alps. During the noon hour we were walking around the gardens of the Borromeo Palace on an island off the coast of Stressa Italy . The weather was nice and warm. Less than two hours later we were on top of the frozen the Simplon Pass in Switzerland with the snow covered Alps all around us and the ground blanketed in snow. It was a stark contrast to say the least.

I flew out of Houston ahead of a front and it was muggy and about 80. Landed in Denver behind the front and it was about 20 and dry as frick. Caught a nose bleed a couple of hours after landing.

I believe it was around 1989. We were duck hunting in Lafitte. Saturday evening we hunted in shirt sleeves shirt and we’re sweating. Sunday morning when we got up it was still hot but wind hit like a stone wall coming through. The temperature dropped all day and froze our ponds that night. There were fish kills and everything that night. The banks had a wall of ice a 1-2 feet tall where the waves had been crashing against them. I’ll never forget being out there

Mount Washington. It went from around 60 degrees or so to below zero in about 45 minutes.

Late 2017 in Midland there was a day where the daytime high was low 80s and the nighttime low was 20

Stepped on a plane in Dallas and it was 75 and muggy. Stepped off in Denver and it was 3 degrees and snowing like hell.

-3 when I left Eagle, 74 when I landed in Houston

Left Kuwait at 120 degrees and landed in Topeka at 55 degrees in mid September after a year in Iraq.
The temperature change wasn't the big thing. The vivid color contrasts and clear air however was something I will never forget. The Middle East blows.

In October of this year, I took a road trip to Los Angeles. There was a winter storm in New Mexico dumping snow. It was 1* with a foot of snow. Within 24 hours, I had made it to California and it was about 92*.

Left LAX in the 70's in shorts and a t shirt, changed into pants and jacket in Chicago before flying into Green Bay where it was in the teens. My parents met me with a winter coat, gloves, and a hat.

Ramstein Germany to Kuwait. We left in July on an unusually cool summer night, it was about 53 when we left and when we got off in Kuwait it was in the upper 90s at 6 in the morning.

How is getting on a plane and flying somewhere an achievement for this temperature change scenario. Everyone and their dog on here goes skiing and arrives in Denver and it’s 30 degrees after leaving Louisiana when it’s 80. I thought this thread was going to be about a cold front coming through and dropping the temperature.
One time I went into a walk in beer freezer at the gas station on a summer day. shite got cold quick.

flew from BR to Omaha
I am convinced Omaha is the coldest place on Earth. I was on a business trip and away from LA in CA. Got a call from the office that they needed me to divert on the way home and do a one day meeting in Omaha. I had a light jacket / raincoat with me. It was mid 70’s in CA in March. Landed and got to hotel in the middle of the night and slept three hours. Walked downstairs and asked the desk clerk the temp outside. Will never forget his answer:
“Well... it’s 14 right now but it’s supposed to get cold later today.”
frick that place.
