I don't have a number. My line in the sand is being able to live independently. If I can't go and do like I want to, there's no reason to stay around.
This.
If I can still do everyday stuff and do some traveling then let's keep life rolling but if the wheels start to fall off and I have to depend on others to take care of me than that's it. I would like to see 85 years old.

For a fit female age 42 my body has nearly killed me about 5 times. Without modern medicine and surgical intervention I’d be long dead. So I’m guessing 70. My doctors call me flukey and if it’s a tiny risk factor then I’m sure I’ll fall in that category.

Saw my cardiologist today,he's postponed a meniscus surgery I need. Diagnosis today congestive heart failure,( enlarged heart/ a-fib for years),living on 35% of my heart. I told him I am getting with a lawyer to start the will process and letting all know end of days wants. I've had a good life but with the nerve, arthritis pain and all my issues that affect everyday life if anything were to go wrong when I'm in the hospital for something let me go / finish me off . I don't wanna be in a home or on a machine because of a stroke or bad things like that. Gonna let all my Dr's and family know if they don't already

I will be sad when my parents die, but if you get to 75 you've lived a full life.

I’m hoping for 88. I think it would be cool to see the Tricentennial, assuming America is still around in 2076.
It'll be full blown Idiocracy if so

Now
I've had a disease for roughly a decade and have had time to come to grips with it

As long as I am able to take care of myself I am good. Number doesn't matter as long as it happens at least a few hours before either of my kids or my wife...do not want to survive any of the three. May have to accept it but it be preferable to never have to face it...

I don't have a number, but I do want to die when I can no longer take care of myself, enjoy live, and not be a burden on my family.

I want the option to live to 1000. If at some point it starts to suck too bad, then I’ll take myself out.

Honestly doesn't matter to me when I die. I put that in God's hands, and I accept whenever my time comes.

Damn pops. Any secrets ?
No secrets. Just lived a healthy life and raised my family on a small farm, employed in the engineering field so that I could afford to farm.
During the ag downturn of the 80's my company dropped from 1500+ employees to 200+. I was one of those eliminated as they didn't need a manager for a sub division that no longer existed. I had studied real estate and became an independent broker selling whatever needed sold. Expanded the farming operation to about 975 acres.
Got called back and since the crops were in and the boys were capable of handling the farming I returned to the job until retiring at 67.5 years old. Spent two years enjoying retirement, hunting, fishing, trapping, farming, etc.
I was then asked to assist a different small company who had lost their engineer and with him, all access to their drawing files. Seems as though it was not a joyous separation as the reason that they couldn't access some of their files is that they had been deleted. He forgot to empty the computer waste basket and I was able to retrieve many of them. I enjoyed the work and the challenges and I ended up hanging out there designing new machinery for them for seven years and retired the second time at 77 years of age.
The next step was helping my sons and grandsons for a few years in their truck and heavy construction equipment manufacturing and repair business that we had been building. Again, I enjoyed the work and the company, but because of a crushed spine from an accident many years ago I could no longer stand or walk for any length of time and the kids renamed me "Big Chief Sits A Lot". I have since been relegated to the desk job and doing the machinery design projects on my home computer with Solid Works software.
The outdoor activities of hunting, trapping, horseback riding etc. that I once enjoyed so much are now just memories, but THANKS TO THE TIGERDROPPINGS FAMILY I am still able to enjoy them vicariously through following along with the stories of your adventures.
THANK YOU!
