Might end up there in the next year or two. Living in Dallas currently. Feels like there has to be some well-informed people on the city.

You’ll fit right in. It’s the slam poetry capital of the south, they have a ton of fast chargers, and there’s a brewpub on every corner

And the local council members get stuff for free at Wal Mart.

Do you have a family or are looking to start one soon? It is a great place to live if you have a young family. Has great school systems and overall is very nice.

For just young adults, it is a fast growing city that is starting to gain a lot of transaction for night life entertainment and restaurants, but still has plenty of room to grow there.

Overall the city is very nice and is a great place to live. Will be very different compared to Dallas, but the quality of living there is very good, and it is an easy travel to Birmingham, Chattanooga, and Nashville for quick trips.

I recently made the transition from the night life and needing constant access to trendy things and rapidly heading in the settling down direction.

To me it's the city version of a somewhat cookie cutter but upper middle class, no-frills suburb that lacks charm/character but checks most boxes for what most middle class families are looking for. Which isn't easy to find in the Deep South on a similar scale.

Honestly I think comparing it to some of the Dallas burbs is reasonable - arguably bland, but a very solid blank slate for building a family life.

I was gonna g to say it’s slammed full of people but you’re coming from Dallas so you won’t notice.

Huntsville is great city though.

Don’t live north of town. Traffic is awful. It’s suburbs and strip malls everywhere.

That’s a big knock on Huntsville. It’s pretty much Generica. Very small areas of quaint southern charm.
