Big single basin sinks are incalculably better than the 2-basin trailer trash sinks

Love being able to throw huge Magnalites, and other big pots/pans in there and not have to wedge shite in at an angle like a tard just to rinse off

because no one washes dishes any more so the sink isnt used for what it used to be for. now it is just a place to stack all the dirty dishes before loading the dish washer, so they want the ones that are bigger in order to hold more dirty dishes.

Proper pre rinse protocol is to let the water run, then scrub your dish under the running water, then put it in the dishwasher

Why are white people obsessed with soaking dishes? Yes I get that some pots and pans need to be soaked a little but if you wash dishes right after you eat, its not a problem. Theres a dishwasher now too. So the soaking part is just another thing to be lazy right after you eat and get to it later?

Habit more than anything. I don't let them sit all day. More of a holding spot for when I washing dishes.

That's already been disproved in this thread. Most everyone is talking about scrubbing their dishes prior to putting them in the dishrinser.

You don't clean your sink?

Neither do we. I hate hearing the damn thing run, and by the time I've "rinsed" them I have basically washed them. What's the point? All you're really doing at that point is using the dishwasher as a rinser.

Dishes shouldn’t be rinsed clean first because the dish detergent needs food bits to stick and work.

You ever tried this? They come out dirty. My dishwasher is a sanitizer and 2nd stage cleaner, not a miracle worker

I'm the opposite. I'll run that thing with two plates and a fork in it if I have to.

We cook at home at least 5 days per week too. We tend to clean things as we go most of the time. If we are just doing taco night we'll just eat on paper plates (trashy, I know). I bet we haven't used the dishwasher in 6 months.

Hated the big farmhouse sink at first. Use prep sink for defrosting stuff or place on a dish on counter

Love it now.

If it's a single basin that is the same width overall as a double basin, I don't see any issue.

The one in the picture is way too small, though.

Also... when I was a kid I was poor and our house had a single basin sink. I used to think only rich people had a double basin.

Split sinks are atrocious for cleaning large items.

Not me, I've got a double decker single basin sink. Best of both worlds.
