Unless you wash dishes by hand, it’s the way to go.

And wall paper in bathrooms was never a good idea. Let's hang paper on the wall in the most humid room in the house.

I had an ex whose parents had carpet in the bathrooms. That made zero sense to me. And it was not a trashy home.

You must be a pig bro.
You rinse the dishes and put them in dishwasher or to dry. There’s no need to have dishes in the sink - they don’t go there.

You can defrost stuff in the empty sink or in a glass bowl on the counter.

I never understood this. If you're going to take the time to scrub the dish why not just add a little soap and then it will be washed? No need to put in the dishwasher if you have already hand scrubbed it.

Because you don't want a bunch of food scraps clogging the DW drain... Nasty

Dishwasher has a sanitize mode and dry mode for the dishes, at least mine does.

When we did a kitchen remodel we went with one large sink. I would not willingly go back.

I'm the same. I went with the large sink mostly because it's the new thing and someday I will want to sell my house and need it to be more "current." However, I found this was the single thing I liked the most about my remodel and I didn't expect to care that much. It is so nice to have plenty of room to wash large pots or to put my instant pot liner and crock pot in it at the same time, or to have room to just stack all the stuff while cleaning the kitchen after a large gathering.

Tiny double sinks are worthless.

When we did our remodel last year, we put in a 16x29" sink. In the garage hallway, across from the laundry (no laundry sink in that room). It's awesome from soaking extra dirty clothes, rinsing dog poop off shoes, cleaning fish or any number of other chores. OCASIONALLY, we'll clean off cookie sheets if they get something baked on them that's hard to get off.

I'd never put on the the kitchen.

I've replaced my kitchen sink 3 times in 30 years. Always went for the 60/40 split.

You only use half the water with a single sink

We could use even less if we abolished DST and my crops weren’t all crispy form an extra hour of sunlight a day that needed remoisturizing

You ever tried to wash a crawfish tray in a double basin sink?

Who boils 1-pound of crawfish, and inside the house no less?

Do what? I'm talking about the trays you eat 5lbs in. You never just pick up 10 lbs of crawfish or some crabs already cooked for you and the lady? Anything that size, such as a big gumbo pot, is better to be washed in a large basin sink. I have a single basin in my outdoor kitchen and prefer using that one to the double in the kitchen.

I can't stand them. My last house had one so I ended up buying a plastic tub for soaking dishes.

I will scrape off food scraps into trash or garbage disposal and do a quick rinse before putting it in the dishwasher. But it's usually not necessary to hand scrub it imo. If hand scrubbing is required then just add soap and it will be hand washed.

I agree with the comments about crawfish trays and large pots being much easier to wash in a single basin "farm house" sink.

And while we're on the subject, it's a SINK not a ZINK

Hi lithium!

I don’t know if it’s small, but it’s not big enough for my magnalite to fit in.

Sometimes there's not enough to run the dishwasher

Then just wash it and put it away, why let it sit and stink.

Also a dishwasher cycle in most case uses less water than hand washing even with a small load of dishes.

Also many mention rinsing then putting in the dishwasher. That is counterproductive as the dishwasher is designed to wash dirty dishes not clean rinsed dishes. Just finish washing them lazy fricks

Say no to accent walls.

Yes I wallpapered in my powder bath in my Baton Rouge house in 2017 and paid someone $300. The quote for an even smaller size in Little Rock was $700 so my husband and a friend said they could do it. It has not been done and I feel bad that it’s been so difficult. Probably gonna have to call someone to have it finished.

Why are white people obsessed with soaking dishes? Yes I get that some pots and pans need to be soaked a little but if you wash dishes right after you eat, its not a problem. Theres a dishwasher now too. So the soaking part is just another thing to be lazy right after you eat and get to it later?

Proper pre rinse protocol is to let the water run, then scrub your dish under the running water, then put it in the dishwasher

I love how Big Dishwasher has convinced us that we need to wash our dishes before we wash our dishes.

I'm sure we have some new green "improvements" coming down the line that will make the dishwasher completely useless and we will be "scrubbing" them under running water before putting them in the dishrinser.
