Well it was technically work, but I just ubered for a year waiting for the perfect job to get and it worked. Didn’t have health insurance to save cash and glad nothing bad happened to me at that time.

About 3 days if I'm being honest. Vacations aren't really vacations anymore, it just means I answer emails on my phone instead of my laptop.

I quit my job once—before kids, late 20s—to chase a few big contracts that I was able to organize and win. I pretty much worked for two years then bummed around doing 5 hours of work weekly for two years collecting the largest checks of my young life, before making a career change.
It took me a solid year of networking to get a job I wanted, and that was a tough year, not financially, but mentally. I learned that a man must labor, socialize, and/or travel almost continuously to avoid going insane.
I can empathize with anyone out of work and under the gun though, that’s never something I faced after college. I had a parachute built up after 2-3 years working.

I'm about to find out. Just had retina reattached in left eye yesterday. Doc says 4-6 weeks to start getting sight back in that eye.

One week. I dont like taking time off or going on vacation. Think I’ll take a week off in December to keep the girlfriend happy. I would rather stay home and work.

2 weeks one time when it was between jobs and I had to move to another state.
Outside of that, never more than a 1 week vacation - and I was answering work calls, responding to text messages and reading/replying to emails most of the time just to avoid falling behind.
That’s why I retired at age 55. It was all worth it in the end.

Unless you own the business or work on commission, this is life's biggest sucker move to give your life to work

Currently on a 3 month paternity leave and I’m stoked. First real break of more than 2wk PTO trips and it’s awesome
