5 or 6 weeks. Broke my femur. In the hospital about a week, had to rehab for a little over a month before they’d clear me to drive again. Had to have a second surgery about 6 months later and that kept me out for another two weeks or so.

Other than that, I think I took like an 8 or 9 day vacation one time.

eta: I still got paid during my convalescence.

Sounds like you need EU citizenship/migrant status. Act like you’re a migrant from Africa. How good is your tan?

Was laid off in February 2009 and was given one years severance plus my bonus. I took 10 months off and it was awesome sleeping until 10:00 everyday getting paid.

3 months and 3 weeks consecutively in between jobs recently. It was awesome for half of it or so. Then it got boring and repetitive.

I took a 3 week vacation once, I believe that is the longest break I've had in the last 15 years.

I don’t think I’ve been “between jobs” or “out of work” since like 2001. Some days I wish I had a break, but I’d probably loose my mind.

I've never had more than 10 days off in a row since I graduated from LSU 35 years ago.

I took 6 months off in my 40s. I had retired and realized it sucks. I will never retire again.

1 week.

lost a job in 1992 and was out a week.
Have taken a few other 1 week vacations but no full weeks since 2010.

I think I'm about to be laid off and will be off for an extended time.

Missed 7 weeks recently due to a medical issue.
Before that the longest was one week. I never take more than one week off because it drives me nuts to catch back up.

I’ve only been laid off once in my career. Last day was on a Wednesday and the company gave me 8 months of severance pay, three weeks of vacation pay, and half a year bonus. I started a new job the following Monday.

I got laid off once and went 7 months with mostly no work. I would occasionally drive a grain truck for a friend of a friend and odd end jobs for beer money. Single and had relatively cheap cost of living. Had saved well and enjoyed some traveling, gardening and beer drinking. Eventually I decided to come back to society.

During covid. I fell for the panic at first. Then cashed in on the unemployment which I’m not proud of but I took it as a fcuk you to Biden and China

I’ve never been unemployed, and the most I’ve ever had off between jobs is three weeks.

I’ve done three week vacations too. Not sure if that counts as “not working”. I don’t have one of those jobs where someone does my work when I’m out.

I’m 60, and have probably had less than a year total where I wasn’t working.

Likely retiring at the end of next year.
