what point is it legal to use your 2nd amendment right?

The right to bear arms? That’s legal.

Does the 2nd amendment cover homicide? That’s what it sounds like you are asking.

Seems like a threat enough on my family if they're standing on my property. May not shoot, but at that point they'd be staring down the barrel of my 870.

Sometimes a peacekeeper has to walk out on the perimeter and shoot people in the head.

In SC, you can kill them where they stand.

So when does this apply though? Because there’s a crowd you can shoot?

If a random kid threw a brick at your house, you can’t kill him. If a teenager spray painted the side of your house, you can’t kill him. If Christmas Carolers knocked on your door to spread Christmas cheer, you can’t open fire.

I only have 25 shots before I’d need to reload magazines...so it depends on how big the crowds are.

Yeah I wouldn’t go off what that SC guy said without independent research. Sounds like a good way to go to prison

I think this is the case in Tennessee too IIRC. I just took the concealed carry class a few months ago and I was surprised when I saw that you can't shoot them for trespassing or even if you catch them stealing something out of your yard. So.. everyone tells me just shoot em and drag em inside the house before the cops arrive.

Stand your ground laws allow a person to use force if necessary if there is a threat of harm. Many self-defense laws state that a person that believes they are being threatened with personal injury has a duty to retreat. If there is a continued threat after leaving, the threatened person is permitted to use force to defend themselves. In stand your ground states, there is no duty to retreat.

There needs to be a threat of harm first.

If you're white you will NOT defend your home.

If you shoot a minority protester you will have the following unpleasant side affects:
1: jailed for murder
2: loss of career/livelyhood
3: branded as racist on most media
4: will suffer civil lawsuits where you will be found guilty and lose all personal property and assets.

I.E. you're in for the hassel of your life.

Texas' castle doctrine, or castle law, protects you from legal troubles if you are ever placed in a situation where you have to use force or deadly force to protect yourself against an intruder who poses a threat.

You are also permitted to use lethal force when another person is being attacked and you reasonably believe use of deadly force is necessary to protect them.

When the person or persons present a threat of violent crime to yourself or someone with you.

Someone comes at you with a brick, you can drop them. If they throw it at your window (specifically not aiming at any person) and runs away, that's a different matter.

Me I most certainly will defend myself in my home or my vehicle which in Louisiana is a extension of my home.

Yep, that’s also true. I just quoted the section that most applied to a looter trying to gain entry. Our statute also has the no duty to retreat in a separate paragraph, but the elements I quoted have to be present too.
