What’s the legal protocol if the protestors show up at your doorstep?

I keep reading about how the protests are coming to the suburbs and how the response won’t be pretty.

Say a group of protestors march down your street. Maybe some throw bricks at your window. Maybe some come to knock on your door to shout at you. Maybe some try to graffiti your walls.

For all the johnny hardasses, at what point is it legal to use your 2nd amendment right?

Because from the way I understand it, there’s not much you can do until they forcibly enter your home and present an actual threat to your life.

Depends on the state. Some of them you can drop them in your front lawn if you feel threatened, even if they're not in your house. Thankfully I live in one of those states.

No duty to retreat in South Cackalacky!

In Cali, you have to retreat deeper into your home before you can defend it...

Look up the self defense / justifiable homicide statute in your state. Look up case law if you want real world facts and application

Louisiana, for example:

When committed by a person lawfully inside a dwelling, a place of business, or a motor vehicle as defined in R.S. 32:1(40), against a person who is attempting to make an unlawful entry into the dwelling, place of business, or motor vehicle, or who has made an unlawful entry into the dwelling, place of business, or motor vehicle,

and

the person committing the homicide reasonably believes that the use of deadly force is necessary to prevent the entry or to compel the intruder to leave the premises or motor vehicle.

If a single brick gets thrown or I feel danger for my life, then I will stack them up like cord-wood.

This right here.

Call 911, "there's a dead man here, my address is XXX"

Cops show up, don't say a fricking word other than "I need to speak to an attorney."

Most states in the South have stand your ground laws in place. I know Louisiana does.

I have not seen that scenario. Though I have seen police officers fire on people on their own front porch with pepper gas.

Legally if they arrive at your doorstep you become an honorary member of Antifa. Sorry.

Oh I doubt it too.

There have been a bunch of Facebook Karen threads about antifa coming to Mountain Brook and Vestavia here in Birmingham. Huge hills with spaced out houses. Yeah I’m sure they’re coming to protest and riot while hiking, Karen. The quiet, dark streets of the sprawling neighborhoods will be a lively experience.
