i've run sub-7 min/miles before. Never had any desire to get faster than that. Probably could barely break 9 right now tbh... been a tough couple months health wise

I would fall halfway down the hill and seriously injure myself, so I can't say the same

Yeah. When i was running 11:30s for two miles, i was always at least in the lead pack in my units.

So. I go to this military leaders course and i realized a couple of people had run ahead. But there's a bunch of us and were on a track.

So when i come off the last turn off my 7th lap only to see a guy cross the finish and pull to the side, I'm like, "da frick?"

LOL. Totally ruined my vibe

In high school we used to do sub 40 min for 6 miles all the time.

BS

True story.

I believe it. There were probably 6 or 7 guys on my HS team that could run sub 40 for 6 miles. A couple of them were basketball players that ran CC to get in shape for BB. We were a pretty good team but when we went to meets in Houston we would get trounced.

Yeah. Sub 40 is solid. But it's hardly blazing for someone who is athletic, young, and runs routinely.

Never timed anything that long before. Miles were always ran as a part of conditioning on leg days with an 8:00 cap to thoroughly drain us. I did run a 4.79 forty as a sophomore in college, so I would say the best I could hope to run in 3:19. So somewhere between 3:19 and 7:00 as I always finished before the 1 minute warning sounded.

Why on gods green earth would somebody want to run a mile? Unless a dog is chasing me I would never run that far. Big arse waste of energy and time. Pick something that is more effecient like sprints.

This is what my watch recorded via GPS. Was at my best around age 32 to 33.

I can do sub-40 for 6 miles. Adding that .2 makes it pretty tough for me to break that number. I'm 40 now, so I know my times are only gonna get slower in the coming years.

6:08 mile. This was fun. A "predictor" mile where we had to predict our mile time, then run without a watch or music on a bike trail. Closest time won a pair of shoes.

22:19 5k

53:02 10k only did one of these. About the least amount of fun a person could have on the 4th of July outside of blowing your fingers off.

All at age 33. Basically stopped jogging all of last year because of a blood clot. Slogged through a 5k yesterday at 28:28.

In Army basic training I ran the 2 mile PT test in 12:05 in 20 degree weather. Fort Sill in the winter was intense. I was 19.

Mile around ~6:15 @ 23 years old in the Army.

Then again my total time was run for 2 miles, 12:30 so my mile time is probably a little faster than that.

Still sucks. I hate running.
