Pay vs actual work = operator.

It must be a shitty life tho as those guys are worse than women with the constant bitching and complaining.

Worst job has to be managing operators. See above for reasoning.

Fire watch.

One of most miserable experiences I ever had. Standing outside of the enclosed space for 12-hrs per day for nearly a week.

I wanted to kill myself.

I tried to be productive (ha ha) by counting all the rocks on ground, pipes in pipe rack, clouds…even ran out of f’n day dreams.

Back hurt worse on fire watch than when building scaffolds.

Gonna depend on how good the union is at the grift at that facility.

We had half a dozen desk jobs mandated by the CBA that worked 4/10s and their only responsibility was to schedule trainings, read off PowerPoints at said trainings, and arrange to have lunch catered. Always former operators who were sunsetting. Zero stress as the training material was published by someone else, just shoot the shite with the guys and bitch about how such and such restaurant used to be better before they sold.

Controls/Automation guy has a sweet gig, other than dealing with the board operators about how they think stuff is supposed to work vs how it actually works.

I/E. I love killing myself swapping a 12" 600# control valve that's been in place for 30 years so I gotta cut every bolt to get it out, only to have to I/E come to their part of the job which is hooking up 3 wires and a piece of 1/4" air tubing.
