you don't need to drive in big cities there. public transport is super cheap and convenient

Did that on more than one occasion when living 4 years in Dharan in the mid 1980. The customs agents readily sent the Bible with us through customs with no questions. One time, I had a very thick book on the sistine chapel painting, which had a few exposed flesh paintings. I had to talk to the supervisor and eventually he agreed that sistine chapel paintings were religious based not a porn stash.
Now there was this time I had a 15 pound dry cured ham at the bottom of the dirty cloths duffle bag for the wife and three kids. Saudis did not like looking through clothes needing washing.
