Another one for me. Probably the single worst day of my life was having to tell my best friends fiance that he was shot and killed executing a drug warrant.

i Thought I was gonna lose my mom to cancer this year. By the grace of God Almighty she pulled through. Both parents still have their issues, but they are kicking. I’m blessed.

Started having panic attacks in March. I had no idea what was happening. It jumped on my spiritual beliefs. Diagnosed with ocd (scrupulousity) and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It's getting better but still have anxiety about if I am believing right. It's been terrible on my wife and kids. I'm glad I am self employed because I couldn't get out of the house the first 2 months.

Damn HC, I didn’t know all that. I know nothing can heal those wounds, but I’m sure when the time is right your boy will love to hear stories and see pics of the ones he never got to meet.

My father shot himself in the head the summer I graduated high school.

I’m not a train wreck because of this. I accept I cannot rationalize it and will never have certain answers.

Time, understanding, wise words of others will just never erase that trauma, and the process of forgiving my father for murdering himself. I’m a happy, healthy person- but that changed me.

Thank you.

No hard feelings from me, I have lots of respect for you combat vets, many of whom are friends and family. Y’all go through some very tough shite.

One of the biggest issues vets have is the tendency to victimize yourself by constantly putting your experience on a pedestal compared to everyone else. Every time someone else had a complaint or a hardship in life, there is an urge to constantly compare and belittle someone else's experiences. Its a bullshite move as hardship and struggle is all relative to the individual.

Forever I thought this was a bullshite excuse. Then it happened to me, multiple reasons. I thought I was losing my mind, then thought I was dying, then had the gun to my head.

Take care, DONHOGG. Think of family; that's the only thing saved me.

Getting a decent engineering job after graduation. Can't write down all of the shite I know and have experience with on an online application. All they read was the blank space I left next to GPA

Man, I will likely never know who you are but I want to send some love your way. You are a tough man to deal with these losses and keep moving. God put every life on this earth to achieve a purpose and when the purpose is achieved he brings that life back to be with him. You may never know what purpose your loved one served on earth but there was an effect achieved that glorifies God. This thought won’t take away your pain but I hope it brings you comfort. You are loved

Her ex husband killed her in March of 2010.

An illegal at that.

He never became legal after they married. He was 18 when they married. Was goinv to be deported.

His actions created a chain reaction: he committed suicide in prison; his daughter went into Foster Care; his family was all deported.

I left Colorado and came back home and lived off my families property hunting and fishing for 2 years before going back to college and trying again.

I cannot imagine the sadness and anger. My wife passed away unexpectedly and suddenly in September 2017 and we still do not have a final report. Like you, I have discussed with many experts and have it narrowed down. However, the pain if it were my son would be worse and I am not sure if I could handle it. God Bless you brother.

I've been going to a Christian counselor since March and a Christian psychologist since April. I have random thoughts that I don't believe. At first it was God had forsaken me then I was lost now unbelief. I know what is in my heart but it is so overwhelming!

I often ask some crazy questions also.

I went to two "Christian" Counselors and both were horrible.

I altogether stopped.

But i had more things going on than just losing my future wife that i wont dispense here on TD that were serious.

If God is there he sure has an odd way of showing it, if he does at all.

But i do believe in goodness ofr goodness sake.

This is a tough thread to read but it’s necessary to really put life into perspective. All the little problems we complain about aren’t shite compared to what a lot of people are dealing with. Godspeed everyone!

Yeah. I felt like God had pulled the rug right out from under me. I was so hurt and angry. It was awful. Absolute worst time of my life. I tried to resuscitate my wife for 10 minutes until paramedics arrived. I could not get that image out of my head. Woke up screaming all the time.

Time has helped. Moving helped more than anything. I could not stay in our place without her plus she died there.

I had a counselor who really helped me. He was Christian but I was having a crisis of Faith in addition to how I was feeling and thinking. It made my world seem both small and large. Alone in a sea of nothing. I'm better today but some days are still tough.
