What you think of adults that are being supported by their parents financially?

Do you respect their accomplishments when you realize there is a parental safety net still in place? Or don’t care?

my SIL is 32 and still lives at home and my inlaws give her money even though she has a job. I just shake my head but keep my opinions to myself.

I hope to make smart financial decisions throughout the remainder of my life in order to set my children up for success. I admire those that did and while my parents didn't give me the world, they worked their arse off to get me to where I am today.
There is a big difference though between those that are thankful and hard working but were set up to begin their career with no loans and a mortgage down payment via grandpaw, and the 30 yr old living at home with no motivation.

If their parents can afford it with no financial harm to themselves I'd say that is a pretty sweet life.
If the parents can't really afford then the adults are just shitty and probably need the support to to the parents being shitty parents in the past.

I'm always jealous of people my age that's parents support them and buy them fancy food and whatnot. My parents aren't rich like that so when I want a steak or whatever I gotta use my hard earned food stamps

I would feel like a really shitty person if I still had to depend on my parents. I don't have respect for any able bodied adult that can't or refuses to support themselves.

How old are they? There is a difference between a 22 year old fresh out of college adult and a 40 year old.

Edit: I had scholarships but they still helped me through college. I feel after that, their job is done. They did more than was necessary. Time to grow up.

If parents have the means to do it and willingly assist their adult children, who am I to judge? My parents were both teachers and now live on fixed retirement income so that isn't possible. But man they sacrificed when we were kids to make sure me, my brother and my sister didn't want for anything and had the education to be productive citizens.
