Put half towards student loans and then use the rest to buy a new car. Throw what’s left in savings.

Probably just put it in the bank and keep it for a rainy day. My daughter is about to go to college so maybe a good investment.

Why are so many wanting to pay down debt and not double/triple/quadruple the 100K, first?

I just sold my house in Baton Rouge and want something similar in the Houston area. I’ll be putting down way more than that to get the mortgage where I want it.
Can’t imagine having a 7k to 8k mortgage coming from a $2600 mortgage so I’m going to put close to 50% down.

Being debt free is great.
Also improves your cash flow. You can redirect the payments to investments.
