What would the OT do?

Driving home through north MS and stop for gas.
About to pump and some guy runs out of gas at the entrance. He asks for help pushing his f150 uphill, and being nice, you shove it into the parking lot.
He doesn't say thanks, he just immediately asks for money.
My kindness, being exhausted, led me to tell him to get the frick out of my face.
Too mean?
