Nobody would have heard of George floyd and the summer of 2020 where cities burned would not have happened.
Most people probably weren’t online during Rodney King.

Fair point, but the outrage and reactions would not have been near as bad though, you have to admit that.
I'd miss the internet, mainly because it's so weird and cool to have literally any information at your fingertips, but if the tradeoff is that it means no social media then I'm all for it. Life was simpler before the internet and people got along more IMO.

Personally, we solve most of our “factual” arguments now by searching the internet. Puts a rather quick end to the discussion.
Before, we had to reason more. We actually had the phone number for the University of Nebraska’s library. They would research a question and call you back with the answer. Gave much more time to argue.
Overall, I’d rather have the internet.

I’d probably still be stuck living in Louisiana.

I would have to go back to the library for books

The internet alone is fine. It’s just social media and big tech censorship that ruins it. Although I am jealous of you baws who grew up without the internet. Simpler times for sure

It would be very 1994ish for me

I agree with the social media post. Internet is fine but sometimes social media can be detrimental. I average according to my laptop last week was 36 minutes a day online, I have a flip phone.

We would probably not have as many teen suicides as we have had.
I would have to relearn how to read a box score in a newspaper.
Speaking of newspapers, they would be a billion dollar industry.
It would be cool to be back at the malls.

I grew up in a time when there were no cable TV, smartphones (no cells period) and internet. Kids actually played outside all of the time, rode bikes, went swimming in a polluted Lake Pontchartrain, etc. A much simpler time, but we all had a good time.

Petty things across the world or even the nation would be none of my business or concern which would be great. Things would take a little longer to learn since I can't just pull it up on YouTube. But I think that would make a booming economy since we'd have to have more tradesmen fixing things. Kids would probably get out more, in turn making parents get out more.
I think a lot of positives would come out of the Internet never happening. Now if it just went away like tomorrow, it's be a shite show for a while.

News stations would probably report actual news, not opinion pieces.

The smart phone did end the era of bar arguments. People used to argue for hours about just about anything. They would get others involved to support their side of the argument and it would eventually expand to the whole bar. Now you can disprove just about anything within about 30 seconds.

I would be unemployable.
I would have to get a real job, and I would make a lot less than I make now.
