What would happen at famous sports venues if society broke down?

Would random people be hitting balls on Augusta National? Or would people flock there to defend it so as to have something to look back on as normal?
Pick a venue. What would happen at Tiger Stadium? Would you go there and copulate on the 50 yard line?

Back in school, I had an old prof… a retired USAF Colonel with a philosophical bent… that predicted that societies in the future would preserve some of our stadiums as “Monuments to our folly and warnings to future generations not to follow our foolish path”.
I thought that was a bit much at the time but I never forgot it. Now that I’m older, I think the man was right.
