Don’t know why I’m getting down voted. I’m not going to use the money unless I need it or blow it on dumb shite. If I can hold on to it through this whole thing, I’m going to invest it.

If you have a combined income of just under 200k, and are living within your means, then you should have enough money saved up to where this situation should not have caused you to not be able to pay any bills. Now, if you make that much, and drive a 70k truck, live in a 2500 sq. ft. house, and the wife drives a 70k SUV, you have a 30k boat, and your kids go to the most expensive school, and you have a nice deer lease, a nice duck lease, then yeah, you probably are severely hurt by this. But if that's the case, you aren't very smart.

If you filed jointly in 2018, the income limit is $150K for the couple.

My original post was that 198k isn't rich, your response was a strawman that it isn't poor. There's a middle ground there, which is where it falls, IMO.

Is this a stimulus or aid package? If stimulus does it matter what income bracket spends it? There shouldn’t be a limit on earnings for stimulus. If it’s aid there should be limits but not completely phased out. 2018 earnings do not reflect the condition someone may be in now. For those on assistance already who have no threat to have their income being effected why pay them more? I really like the SBA forgiveness but have concerns how smoothly that process will line out.

the 500 per kid has a much higher ceiling. more than 250k in drafts floated. it could much more.

irs produces the list in a format and media that treasury mnuchin specifies.
treasury poops out checks sorted by zip9 for days and days.
each day:
tons of checks into tons of envelops.
tractor trailers over to yon main postal building.
sorted already by zip9
into trucks. some go right to maryland and virginia and dc.
most go into airplanes.
into trucks.
into post offices.
into little square trucks
some of that.
