The negative is that NO needs the tourist dollar badly, and Latoya is definitely destroying any chance of collecting that money.
I know a guy with four French Quarter restaurants, and they will all be open for business next fall. All of the hotels will, also. It surprises me how they are mostly going to make it, but NOLA tourism will snap back very quickly, with the large majority of businesses still there.

I believe this is wishful thinking but I applaud your enthusiasm.

It will look like Detroit with a better football team and no baseball team

Similar to a Mad Max Barter Town type place

About the same
The goal of NOLA appears to be an elite ruling class surrounded by abject poverty.
Any concept of middle class is being removed with the quickness.

Federal money
Nola will get federal money eventually, but that won’t trickle down to the failed business. It’ll be squandered on inner city do-nothing community action groups/non profits tied to the Mayor’s inner circle so they can buy a crappy van for their venture , rent a shitty business office, and the CEO will pay themselves $300k a year to do little except take lavish trips by for by the nonprofit.

It bounced back after Katrina and this isn't as bad. Sure, businesses will fold but new ones will open up. I think within 6 months everything will be back to normal once the vaccine is widespread. 20 million doses will be administered in December and that number will grow in March. It'll be free and effective and the cowards can come out of their houses then.

Sad, but that’s exactly what will happen.

Completely agree....if the vaccines work as everyone hopes. Most cities will be on the rebound. Everyone is ready.
