We had friends in that age group and all survived Katrina (they were smart and didn't make dumb decisions). But the stress of living there, of rebuilding houses and businesses...took a toll and many died within five years, and the ones that survived have decision making problems they didn't have pre-Katrina.

Both of my wife’s grandparents passed away within months of Katrina. Her grandmother passed in Oct due to not receiving proper treatment at MD Anderson and a month later her “healthy” grandfather suddenly passed away due to what she can only call a broken heart.

I work for a large company in the city. We have no plans to come back anytime soon. Even after a vaccine. We don't need the real estate anymore. The people that think things will be back to normal at the drop of a hat are dreaming. Cities will be changed forever.

Businesses and restaurants will come back once covid goes away but they won’t be the owners you knew before and for some people it will be a culture shift from locals trying to make it to opportunists trying to make a buck.

Saints’ QB Taysom Hill will start Sunday vs. the Falcons, per source. Hill took all the starter reps at practice this week. Jameis Winston will be the backup.

I’m not expecting NO to become a utopia. But there’s no reason to think it can’t get back to what it was pre-lockdown.

it's going to take a long time though.

people have to have confidence in the vaccine. my concern is that we're always going to have a few cases of COVID in the population, even with a vaccine, enough so that no one wants to go out in crowds.

What do people not understand about the way business will be run post covid. Most major companies are going to a work from home model to cut down on real estate costs downtown. They city won't be back like it was ever. Use your brains.

The city hasnt been fine in years

Sure, on the façade it looks fine, but I would call digging deeper and deeper into debt and fraud "fine"
