Got my degree and within 6 months was in a nuclear weapons launch unit and not knowing until halfway into the four and a half minute countdown if it was real or just a drill.
On the surface, not possibly safe in an underground silo.

Building a relationship with a guy that I worked for for 4 summers, telling him I wanted a fulltime job when I graduated, him telling me there was one waiting for me when I graduated, and then him giving it to someone else.
He tried to make up for it by placing me at another location with one of "his" guys, but it wasn't the same. It was a poorly funded startup and his guy got fired 6 months after I started. I was let go 3 months later.

Realizing that I learned nothing and experience matters.
It is crazy how true this is, yet we think of most of these degrees as being so dang important!

they are, but as with most ratings/certifications, it should be considered a "license to learn"

Getting my car stolen and being contacted by NOPD to tell me that they found my dismantled car in the middle of St Bernard Housing Project. And that if I did not go pick it up, I would be ticketed and fined.
There was no offer to accompany me there either. Just go get your stolen car from somewhere in a crime ridden housing project.
When I drove into the center courtyard, people surrounding the scavenged car scattered like roaches. Several surrounded the car I used to drive there. But they could tell I was armed. I lived.
Thanks NOPD for directing crime victims to enter crime ridden neighborhoods.
It hit me that I should have studied harder in school so I could be more marketable outside of that shitty, corrupt, crime ridden State.

Pretty close. There was this perfectly situated adult video store with an arcade(private viewing rooms) in Terrell Texas about 25 miles east of Dallas.

This place was always happening on the weekends.
It's still there.

I know the place, for years the only things at that exit were a liquor store, an "adult" store, and a BBQ joint, what an oasis!!

I moved to Texas after highschool. After a year got down on my luck and moved back home. My mom showed me the house plans for the house they were gonna build when they sold my childhood home. I saw a bedroom on the house plans and asked if it was my room. She told me that is where I stay when I come to visit. Realized then I was grown and play time was over

I had been on the job for about two weeks at a Big 4 Accounting firm. Guy I started with and I were sent to an Iron Mountain location to scan invoices. We were put in a windowless room with no internet or AC. We were pulling invoices out of bankers boxes and running them through a scanner. It was one of those deals the quicker you get the invoices scanned the quicker you were done and could go back to the office so we were busting balls to get it done ASAP. In all, it took us 6 working days to get everything done. I still remember this, we ate Canes twice, Genghis Grill twice, and a salad place twice. So twelve meals that totaled to about $150.
We get back to the office and file the expense report and about a week later, the senior manager on the project calls me to his office to let me know you are not supposed to expense meals if you aren't out of town. I'll reiterate again, we were in what amounted to a prison cell, and spent $150 in total between two people. This project netted fees of over $1 million.
At that exact moment, I realized how big of a cocksucker some people are.

Mine came in high school, when my truck broke and I couldn't afford to fix it because I had taken my girlfriend out to eat the night before.
