I had a 4.0 undergrad gpa, but never got any undergraduate degree. I do have a doctorate however.
I suppose gpa may matter to many potential first employers, but no one has ever asked me about mine except for one hot coed I was introduced to back in school who wanted to confirm what she had been told by one of my friends. Shopping for her MRS. degree I guess.

First two years, I was a total idiot and had a 1.9. I grew up a little, went back as only half an idiot, and graduated with an overall 2.9
Pretty much same story with me. I was able to get it up to a 3.2 by graduation but that required basically no social life and near a 4.0 for 2.5 years.
Coming out of school, it is almost all employers have to go by, so it can have value. By 5 years out of school, it is worth nothing.

A lot of people tell them self this. I have come to think that a probably subconscious compensation to protect their ego. They don't really try to protect themselves from the risk failing when you know you tried your best. Then you would have nowhere to hide from the reality that you really aren't as smart as you thought you were.

think a 2.98
made it above 3.0 just in time to get into EJO , then promptly tanked it below 3 with a C
don't care; graduated

3.4 Sport Administration-Sport Commerce.
Pretty easy, slacked off my first year at LSU but my last two years, probably around a 3.7-3.8 GPA.

undergraduate gpa
One of my friends in undergrad totally blew off school one semester and wound up with a 0.5 average for the semester. When his parents asked him how his grades were, he told them he was only three points short of having a 3.5 average.

It's overrated, but a higher GPA could separated you for an entry level position.
Graduated w/ a 2.9 undergrad in Finance, but my Finance was a 3.7. Finished MBA w/ a 3.85 & 4.0 in accounting courses. Once the CPA went on the resume, no-one gave a shite about any other figures.

That may be true for some, but there are a lot more examples of people who fricked around their first semester or two and either got on academic probation or close to it, then straightened out their act and made excellent grades after that. Their GPA will always be dragged down by that first couple of semesters, but it's pretty clear they were capable the whole time but just didn't do their best.

GPAs don't really amount to much in the real world tho. You put it on a resume and the employer will look right over it in most instances.
I'd hire a lesser gpa with a personality over a 4.0 know-it-all basically every time.

3.0 in finance (fuh-nance) but had a 3.5 my last 3 semesters to pull it up to that
3.6 grad GPA
From what i've gathered they just use your GPA as an indicator as to whether or not you work hard, not to see how smart you are
