I don't know what this means. Explain maybe?

Mine was climbing the Miss River Bridge in BR. People use to do it all the time, just scurry up the conduit. Well, back in the mid 90's, they add an 8'x8' hurricane fence at the top of the conduit, it was horizontal. So when you got to the top of the conduit, you had to hang from the fence and swing your body over the sides to get over it. Getting back down was just as tricky. This was 60' in the air.
I still have flashbacks of climbing that thing, knowing how stupid that was. It plays in my head like watching one of those videos of people hanging from bridges, cranes, etc.

Getting t-boned by a hind accord doing 50 mph while riding in the back seat of a corolla when I was in 10th grade . Was hit so hard that the impact blew my shoes off. I barely remember staggering out of the car wand wandering into some person’s house. I opened their front door, walked in and sat at their kitchen table. Left a hell of a blood trail from a gash in my head and hand.

I was pushed into a alleyway in French Quarter not far from Pat O's very late one night,
Before I figured out what was happening a pistol was put to my head and told I was being robbed.
Fortunately, I had exactly one dollar on me and the leader gave it back to me and said "I wasn't worth robbing" and they walked away. I was stunned how close it was to being all over....

My wife was giving birth for my son, prematurely by seven and half weeks, which was scary enough, and we were in the room with doctor about to do her thing, and there was an anethesist administering an epidural. You know that medical form that you sign absolving the hospital and the doctor of any responsibility and acknowledging the risks involved? "Oh, it's just a formality. I need you to sign right here."
Probably should read the fine print on those. One of the risks is.. death.
The doctor had put a fetal heart monitor in and was monitoring and everything was okay. But as soon as the injection from the epidural hit my wife, her respiration and blood pressure completely bottomed out and her heart stopped. shite.
I was pushed out of the way, and they started administering CPR to her. After about fifteen seconds, the doctor noticed the fetal monitor showing severe stress on my unborn son, and looked at me and said, "You need to tell me right now, do I work to save her, or save the baby? I can't do both."
Scariest fricking moment of my life! I was numb and couldn't respond immediately.
Within five seconds, they used paddles on her and restarted her heart. We waited a few seconds to see if her blood pressure would stabilize. She did, but my son was in distress, so the doctor made the emergency c section (my wife and I had already agreed that in an emergency, she would have the c section). It was, just an incredibly awful experience overall, almost surreal when the doctor told me I had to make a life or death decision about my wife and/or my unborn son.
And before anyone asks, yes, I would have said to save my wife.

If you're a parent, obviously the scariest thing is something happening to your kids. My son's high school was 5 minutes away. He had only been driving for a couple months at this point. On the day he was taking the PSAT for National Merit, I was up when he left the house. Just a few minutes after he left the house, the phone rang and I instantly knew something was wrong. Looked at the caller ID and it was from his phone. I answer the phone and say "Hello" and get no response back. I yell his name into the phone several times and still no response, but I can hear a repeating mechanical noise in the background like "ka chuk, ka chuk, ka chuk". I'm just picturing a flipped car with a mangled wheel spinning slowly. Wife was in the bathroom and I didn't even take the time to tell her anything - I was instantly out the door in my pajamas hopping into the car. I turn onto the highway and there's a fire engine with the siren on rolling out from the station right in front of me.
A minute later my cell phone rings and it's him. He was turning onto the street his school is on and a woman ran a red light and broadsided him at 40+ mph without even touching the brakes. When he tried making the first phone call, his phone was still connected to the car via bluetooth, so the call was going through his car - not through his phone that was in his hand while he was standing on side of the road. The car was totaled, but he escaped in relatively good condition - though he ended up with a herniated disc in his back. Of course, the woman had no auto insurance, though thankfully I had uninsured motorist coverage so his car was covered.
Those moments knowing something happened, getting no response on the phone - and especially seeing the firetruck pulling onto the highway right in front of me - were indescribable. Just a sick feeling.

Building collapsing around me and having to crawl out. Thought I was a goner.

I delivered my son in a hotel room. He had the cord wrapped around his neck and wasn’t breathing.
I handed him to my wife and told her to rub his chest. He let out a big scream and started crying. I started screaming and fist pumping like Tiger. The thought of my son dying was pure terror.

Another rebeloke thread.
shite.
Thought it might be novel or original...
I wrecked one time and thought I was on fire.

Losing the child is definitely the scariest.
My daughter ran away when she was in middle school. For about an hour we thought she’d been taken. Most scared I’ve ever been in my life.

I've had a few. The ones that involved nearly dying weren't so much scary... As the world slowed to a crawl and I got to dissect everything with an insane level of intensity.
Scary... Out in the woods behind the house one night riding in an old truck with two buddies. I think we were 19. Truck breaks down at 2 am in the woods, about as far as I can get from the house, 5 miles or so.
We have no flashlight. No water. No weapons. Just a pack of cigs and a lighter.
Start walking out, pitch black, only the gravel road is visible. And at first we're cutting up. Smoking, laughing, having a good ol time.
And we all start to just kind of get quiet. Something just seemed...wrong. So we slowly start picking up "walking sticks". Large enough to bludgeon most things to death.
And we walk. And every so often we here a crack in the woods next to us. A fast footfall on the gravel road behind us.
And we walked like that for an hour. Terrified. Knowing that something was following us. I can't tell you what it was. But whatever it was was by itself. Big enough to follow three 200+ lb guys. And smart enough to not rush in.

Probably the two times I took my kids to the hospital. One was a cold that quickly delveoped into severe pneumonia. The other when my kid had heat exhaustion after spending the Fourth of July out in the blazing Louisiana heat. Just couldn’t cool her off and rushed her to the ER.
