My whole family are UGA fans that think St. Simons is the only beach in the world, my nephew and his fiance decided to get married there on the Saturday of FSU Oklahoma in 2011...

The most inconvenient wedding i was ever asked to attend occurred on the Saturday night prior to the LSU/Bama Nat'l Title game in 2012... I dont want to be too specific, but i lived out of state and the wedding was also taking place out of state; it was a non-immediate family member that was getting married... I had secured Plaza level tickets to the game, and i just wasnt willing to miss that weekend in NOLA for a wedding where the bride and groom (both of whom had LSU ties) SHOULD have planned for the contingency that LSU would make it to the Title game that year... Long story short (too late), it was an absolutely unbelievable weekend, and everything was lining up to make it the experience of a lifetime-- then the Tigers failed to even bother to show up... Now i wish i had gone to the wedding.

My sister-in-law got married the day of the 1996 college World Series finals against Miami. Watched Warren Morris hit the game winning home run then snuck in the wedding late.

Buddy's friend is making them fly to Vancouver, and then to some island

Destination weddings are so moronic and selfish

I'm sorry, but no one makes you go to a wedding. Any reasonable couple that wants a destination wedding realizes that having one will likely mean there will be guests that cannot go (whether they choose not to or simply cannot afford it).

Had to go to a wedding on the weekend of the A&M/UT game last year. Biggest game if that weekend. College Gameday was there. The whole 9 yards.

To add insult to injury, both the bride and groom were Ags.

To add further insult to injury, we had to drive a good part of the way on Hwy 6 (goes through CStat). On gameday. A&M/UT be-decked cars passing us left and right.

And then not a single projector at the reception. Missed the entire game.

I was pissed

Well I enjoyed my seven days in Key West! And the wedding was great. But not during football season so?

best wedding i ever went to was in watercolor, fl. also the most expensive to get there and everything on site was ridiculous (including the house rental) - but it was also the most fun. a fair tradeoff.

It's ok to have it the weekend of the LA Tech game.

Eventually your anniversary will be on the biggest game of the year and you'll regret it.

Only been to one out of town wedding. It turned out to be awesome: it was in the middle of nowhere in the woods. We kayaked, hiked, and fished
