What type of countertops do you have in your home? What would you recommend?

Pros and cons of what you have now? Post pics.

I have marble everywhere, and I hate it. It's soft, porous, and us susceptible to stains and etching. Unfortunately it was already in our house when we bought it.
Our next house will be leather finish granite or concrete.

I have quartz. Love them. Don't have many pics, but it is kind of a cream/off-white with some gray veining that goes with the paint color in the kitchen. Super easy to clean. Always gets complimented. Ran about $75/sq. ft. with install.

Granite and butcher block. No photos available. I sealed the butcher block so we don't actually use it as a butcher block. pros - looks good and always gets compliments , cons - scratches easily. Granite is easy to clean and no cons I can think of.

granite.
some guy on here a few years back was making fun of granite and how all the real rich people were tearing out their granite and replacing with stained concrete. like to the point he was being a belligerent a-hole

Normal granite. A friend did the leather granite, looks real nice, but not sold on it.

Granite in the kitchen, downstairs and guest bathrooms, marble in the master bath and Butcher Block in sun/pool room.

Butcher Block, per wife’s request. Looks nice, but is a fricking pain in my ever loving arse. I wish we had just gone the generic route and used some granite or some shite.

Granite. Easy to care for, durable, reasonably priced, and real.
Let’s look at the alternatives
Marble- beautiful, expensive, hard to keep clean, not as durable as granite
Quartz- solid non porous surface, more expensive than granite, looks manufactured because it is, I can’t put my hot arse cast iron skillet down on it so gtfo.
Concrete- lol no

Virginia mist granite that I love. It looks like soapstone, but it's granite. It's in the kitchen and it was very expensive. Island and kids bathrooms are Kashmir white granite. One bathroom is a volcanic thunder.
Master bathroom is all white carrera marble, which is soft and etches easily, but looks great with grey cabinets. Overall pleased with everything.

Granite on one side, stainless on the other. Granite is easiest, but the stainless look is awesome one white glazed cabinets.

Quartz - Cambria Ella
Looks like marble without the headaches. Quartz is great and there are options that don't look fake.
