People who kill themselves don’t usually talk about it, he just wants attention
OP should call and be cool/friendly to him. And see if he'll trade his best players, since fantasy football is the least of his worries, and he probably won't finish the season anyways.

Incorrect. They do talk about it. You should pay attention and help in any way you can.
I have HARD EXPERIENCE. And it sucks.

In college I worked in a large group home with schizophrenic bi-polar who would frequently tell the staff they were going to kill themselves. We were trained to not feed into their attention seeking behavior, so we never let them think we felt sorry for them.
Protocol would be to empathize and then normalize. For example, I know it sucks your family never visits but think of all you would be missing if you killed yourself. We did this in order to buy time.
After that we would call 911 and the doctors would handle it from there.
Always call the police to do a welfare check. Thinking you can talk someone out of suicide who truly wants to die will only give you a lifetime of guilt and regret.

OK true story.....it took me 3 yrs to get my daughter (no pics you animals) to break-up with a loser but I finally succeeded but made it look like she decided on her own.....don't care, the end result was what mattered to me.
Anyway he kept calling/texting her so I called him and told him to stop it (I was a lot more forceful than that) or I was going to give him a visit. He replies "well I'll just kill myself." My reply "go for it and if you succeed it'll be the first thing you ever go right."
No more contacting the daughter.

I realize this advice is late to the game so it might not be as appropriate, but when someone sincerely says that they want to kill themselves, consider it a health emergency and call 911. Let the pros handle it and make the decision on what course of action to take.
Some people might say that it’s overreacting but I’d rather fall on the side of caution.

Do a three way call with him and the suicide people but if you can’t get ahold of him that’s tough keep trying

I am pretty solid on my lines of thinking...
I don't think we should be running around sticking Narcan in every opioid addict passing out on the streets.
Someone wants to die? I say let'em.
So what's the difference here?????

It depends. Six guys from my platoon have killed themselves, two within the last two years. None of them said a word. They had problems, but all had something to live for. There is one in particular we are dealing with now who pops up about every six months or so and starts saying he wants to die and doesn't want to be here, but he has been saying that for 10 years. Usually when drunk. So I have a hard time taking him seriously at this point. Nevertheless, we reach out and send someone over there to assess the situation, even if he is full of shite.
You just have to gauge it the best you can and know that whatever happens it is not your fault.
Also, tell him fantasy football is not that important if he thinks his team is bad, he should see mine.

Tell them it’s a permanent solution to temporary problem.

Always a good idea to antagonize a potentially unstable person especially when your daughter (yes pics) is involved.

Tell him to please do it with cigarettes and fast food.

Remind him it’s across the street for attention, down the road for results
