Whatever I gotta do, if my gun's handy I'd use that.

No, I’m not trying to sound hard. A pit bull is not a very big thing. I’m a fairly athletic big guy. I could at least dislocate or maybe even break the thing’s ribs/legs/hips/ribs/back.

You take your belt off and wrap it around the dogs throat to cut off its air and force it to let go, this also gives you control of the dog once it comes off the bite so it doesn’t redirect onto you.

I will share what I know from raising Pits back in the 70's. We took great precautions to ensure the dogs remained under control at all times. The only way to get them to release the locked jaw, besides a bullet, is the proper use of a "Break Stick". We carried this with us anytime we handled the dogs. The stick is like a wood hammer handle that is whittled down to a wedge like an Oyster knife. Grab dog from behind by scruff if the neck, straddle the dog, squeeze your legs very tight above his hip, pull up to get his front legs off the ground, jam the stick near the back of his teeth and pry like you are opening an Oyster, continuing to pull up. When he releases keep the stick jammed in his mouth and keep off the ground. This has been the method for 100 years on farms and in the country when Pits where actually working dogs.

And you’d let your dog or kid die trying to be Jackie Chan

I own a heinz 57 with a noticeable amount of pitbull in it. When she chomps down on her rope, I can lift her off the ground with it and she won't let go. I would suggest killing the dog if it is attacking something. Probably the only way to get it to let go.

If I’m unarmed and empty handed I have no choice but to kick the shite out of the dog. I’m maximizing the damage to that dog with whatever i’ve got.
Leaving to go get a weapon is not an option. My kid or dog dies for sure in that scenario.

Shoot it

If you don't have a gun but do have a knife, cut his nuts off

If you have neither one, kick it in the nuts repeatedly

If it's a gyp, stab it in the eye or gouge both it's eyes out.

Its trying to kill someone, so you need to use whatever means immediately at your disposal to attempt to kill it.

This is misinformation and unnecessary. Every pit bull owner I’ve ever met tells me pit bulls don’t bite

A 12 gauge shotgun. Also, if a pit attacks anyone, it should be a mandatory 5 year minimum sentence that escalates based on injury. The animal should be considered a weapon so you could tack on aggravated assault, manslaughter, negligent homicide, etc.

Our fair new city of St George should go ahead and put shite like this into the city charter.

Always have a knife in my pocket..

There's not a creature on this planet that won't bleed out if you cut its throat.

If it’s an intact male (which most are) rip its nuts off.

Always carry and put it down?

Knife to its eye ball?

Sharp stick through the eye?

Lots of options besides standing there screaming like a bitch.

Grab both rear legs. Start a spin like the hammer throw. Look for nearest tree or sign and move the spin to the hard object.

I remember as a kid, a piece of sh&t pitbull had my dog by the throat. My dad got a shovel and buried it into the pitbull's back and spine. He let go and fell straight down. Enjoyed watching him slowly die.
