Yeah they are rising by +10 from the low after their peak. None of the numbers justify further crippling this states economy. LA is especially hard hit by this since we have two industries, O&G and tourism. Both of which are crushed due to stay at home orders.

I know this is a dumb question, but with the actual data how can he justify that?

Because he took the guidelines and twisted them the way he wanted to break it up by regions. He didn’t think anyone would fact check his Region 2 increasing cases nonsense, but most of us have caught on. He lied during the last press conference, so I expect him to lie again.

I am fully expecting him to list a hospital that hasn’t decreased in cases over the last two weeks. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he broke it down by city or neighborhood.

Something along the lines of “Many, LA saw their first case this weekend. We wouldn’t want it to spread to a town of 1000 and see the dangers of this virus. The lockdown will continue 2 weeks. I am tired of having to say comply but you people better comply this time or gestapo will be making a stop by your house.”

What regions meet trumps guidelines?

quote:

1. Downward trajectory of influenza-like illnesses (ILI) reported within a 14-day period

2. Downward trajectory of covid-like syndromic cases reported within a 14-day period

3. Downward trajectory of documented cases within a 14-day period OR Downward trajectory of positive tests as a percent of total tests within a 14-day period (flat or increasing volume of tests

Every single one except 8 and 6 which are both plateaus.

And Trump’s guideline says 14 day decrease as a STATE.

And here is the data from May 1. This is the one JBE said region 2 was increasing.

So do regions 6 & 8 have enough cases to override the rest on STATE wide basis?

Not even remotely close. We have been on the downward slope since the first week of April as a State.

We have the fewest in hospitals in 40 days and fewer vents than when they first started recording it. It is lunacy to keep this going.

At 2:30 pm he will announce, IMO, that the stay at home order is extended 2 more weeks
Well just wait two weeks and then in two weeks you'll see what will happen after two weeks. It's science.

I'm heading there in a month. Are there any restrictions in restaurants? Do you know if the local water park is open? I haven't been following Alabama's cases.

contact tracing
I’m so curious as to how he thinks he’s gonna contract trace people when they can have the virus 2 weeks before showing symptoms to get tested. Are they gonna make someone remember every place they went in 2 weeks and contact everyone who went there?

All I can tell you is That I saw long lines at restaurants today as we drove in to perdido.

And alcohol can be taken to go “during these times”. Raises and Publix and not requirimg masks — we called before we went. One way aisles in Publix but no one was following it.
