I've noticed that more and more canned goods are dropping the easy-pop tops, and returning to flat tops requiring traditional can opener. I presume it's a production cost thing.

All of the drug commercials on TV for HIV. Why do I have to watch a bunch of gay dudes hugging up on each other while I’m trying to watch TV?

Used to be able to buy 32 oz. Gatorade bottles from Walmart for $1. Then Gatorade “rebranded” the bottles to “make them shaped easier to hold” and the bottles are now 28 oz. and charge $1.28

So approximately a 12% reduction in size/volume and a 28% increase in cost.
I’ve noticed this is not being discussed anywhere but this is the kind of bullshite shrinkflation that I draw a line in the sand on

Invasive plant species and how they're everywhere destroying local ecology, and no one talks about them.

In fact, you can buy dozens and dozens of said invasives at your local nursery. The DOT departments spread them, homeowners spread them, and they're decimating habitat and your land value.

If a bureaucrat actually cared about the environment instead of only, "muh, climate change," (an American democrat, circa 2025, to be more specific) they'd ban the sale of invasives from garden centers yesterday, and train county, state and federal DOT right-of-way mower operators to identify, mark and report spots where invasives are present to control them, instead of continuing to spread them to private landowners who abut the right-of-way, thereby costing said landowners (taxpayers who pay for the right-of-way mowing) even more money to control it.

But absolutely nothing is being done, and if your property has highway frontage, it's not a matter of "if," but, "when" your government spreads invasives on to your private property that you pay property taxes on.

Thanks .gov.

And when your aloof, arse hole neighbor plants an invasive they lawfully bought at Lowes, be aware that said invasive will decimate your property value in due time if you don't know how to identify and control it.

Think it doesn't affect you?

I've made hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars off of controlling/eradicating invasives on private property acreage just like yours, and that doesn't include taxpayer owned property.

Invasives are destroying your biodiversity, your equity, and your public lands: It doesn't get much worse than that.

this is so true

I came to post how parents just constantly ignore their kids. At the summer camp I worked, many many kids wrote or talked about how they wished their parents played with them or talked to them more -I’ve seen that mentioned on the internet before but never realized it’s true

There are hardly any crabs left in Lake Pontchartrain. In the seventies, we could pull close to over a hundred out with just 5 or 6 crab nets thrown off of the seawall. Not anymore.

bartenders and waiters/waitresses aren't as good as they were 20 years ago. Service industry has lost a step.

**I did try Parrish's in Long Beach last weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised. Food was good with the exception of the scallops. But, the service was incredible.

Kids become deaf when they are surfing on a iPhone or iPad. Get ready to repeat yourself a time or two before they hear you.

I guess the silver lining is that it will imprint upon the kids, moving forward, a desire to be present with folks that matter.. I hope so..

Most people in real life are nice and treat each fairly well.

All you read and hear about is how divided everyone is and all the horrible shite people do.

But when you actually go on about your day, most people are pleasant.

How all the citizens of every country are opposed to unfettered immigration …

… yet the governments do nothing to stop it

So like … why are we listening to a small group of humans dictate everything for the rest of us?

If we were in like prehistoric times or a tribe … like you’d have to walk over to me and tell me to my face and I’m one of like 30 people in the tribe.

“Hey Del… I’m gonna move some idiots from two islands over, and build them a hut right at the entrance of your cave.”

I mean you’d just tell caveman person to frick off. And that would be that.
