About 68 for the heater. We run our AC quite a bit during the winter too and I usually set it on 72.

Never turn on the heater. Have a fireplace for that. 68 at night and 73 during day.

Why would someone down vote my thermostat preferences?

If no one is home during the day during cold periods it's set to 68, during warm periods it's 72. At night it's usually about 66 or 67.

77. I like it hot. I rarely run the AC in summer.

Now that the wife is at work, 65. When she gets home, it goes up to 68 and my heater will come on at 66 and shut off around 71.
I like cold weather and the heat dries out my sinuses. I sleep with a very light cover in the winter and my wife is bundled up like she's living in the arctic with sheet, bedspread and a heavy blanket made from wool.
I'm walking around my house in shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops right now.

Depends on how cold it is outside.
15-25: heat is set on 70.
25-35: heat is set at 68
35-40: heat is set at 67
Anything over 40 and we wear long sleeves and socks.
Summertime is a different story though.
June-August our air is set at 78 during the day and 69 at night. If we are home during that time of the year during the day then it is set at 74.
November, most of December, and March rarely sees our system even come on.

It goes in stages through the morning & afternoon and mostly off during the day.
For sleeping, the heat goes to 68 at 19:30 & 67 at 21:00.
