I was only on the 1983 team. One year, they needed a sports guy. It was between me and a rather unfortunate looking junior for the last spot. The Headmaster came up to me and said "Heard you are in the running for the last QB spot". I told him I didn't think I'd make it. His reply, "Don't worry, you look better on TV than JC".

Football - Was on the team but didnt really play due to being the size and weight of a wet tree branch and not being able to actually catch a football.

Track - Ran mile and 2 mile mainly but would do 800 and 4x400 occasionally. All state in the 3200 senior year.

Cross Country- All state senior year.

That 7-6 game was a classic but the game winning center sneak was epic. The following year was the big fight at Fort Jackson.

One of the reasons they’re so popular.

Baseball, basketball and soccer.

Not as impressive as it sounds. Played baseball at a larger high school, and was nothing special. Transferred to previous small private school where I played basketball and soccer. Was a decent 2-guard, and an all-state stopper on our state champ soccer team. Would have been average soccer player at a larger school.

8th thru 12th: varsity soccer—starting left wing/center striker; Premier/travel league—Sweeper
10th thru 12th: varsity football—starting free safety/rotating tailback/starting kicker/kick & punt returner—pretty much ironman football since we were 2A
10th thru 12th: varsity track—400m and 800m, kind of showed up when I felt like it/didn’t really get into it

Ended up kicking in college all 4 years and punted for 1 (even though I didn’t know what the hell I was doing punting )

Just got my first cortisone knee injections yesterday, shite finally caught up to me 20 years later
