Can’t just pull up the carpet.

Was thinking interlocking foam gym floor tiles but not sure how those would work on top of carpet.

Any ideas?

TIA, also I’m sure I’ll get flamed by the OT but send it.

Can’t find them big enough or how I’d make them somewhat seamless

Hell, I want to see the art.

ETA: In the past I built some panels for a lady for basically the same purpose. We just used the luxury vinyl on a 1/4" plywood backer and trimmed them out. It was basically a floating false floor.

Then you don't have an art studio.

I remember you now. Cool work!

I edited my post for what I've done in the past.

The blood of your enemies.

Oh, you said art studio. Maybe a nice rug with a modern pattern.

I use 24"x30" silicon mats on the floor of my lab.

The seams are the only downside as not much of anything sticks to them.

Or horse stall mats. They make them with interlocking edges. I've used the smooth edged ones, and they don't move much, though.

They work extremely well.

Just roll some linoleum over it if you are just protecting the carpet.
