BTK would have gotten away with all of it if he just checked his ego and not sent that letter to the news station.

Also I'm surprised I made it to page 3 without a mention of HH Holmes. Unbelievable the lengths he went to for murder. Literally bought a hotel just to customize trap doors so he could torture and murder.

Short answer? Younger millennials and Gen Alphas (generally) are GIANT pussies and offended by accurate language.

Of course it is. The algorithms and censorship are driven by complaints.

The audio doesn't exist publicly (thank God), but you can find a transcript of the tapes online. I read a few lines into it after someone linked it and I really wish I hadn't.

Albert Fish literally ate human shite and called it peanut butter.

Most of the stuff Fish did sounds fake, but was documented as fact. He would jam roses with thorns up his urethra and yank them back out. An x-ray of his pelvis also showed needles he had pushed into his body.

Edmund Kemper decapitating and then skullfricking his own mother is hard to comprehend.

The Moors Murderers, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, actually recorded audio of them raping and murdering a 10 yr old girl. It's supposed to be so horrific, no portion of it has ever been leaked and was thought to be destroyed, but the Manchester police claim it's still locked away in a vault.

The fact that he was so smart that he wasn't caught, but had to turn himself in is disturbing as well.

He was also smarter than most folks on the OT (not me of course, but that would be a tall order). He also read a shite ton of books for the blind via LibriVox. Like a huge number.

Because AI moderation on many platforms will burn you sometimes for using the other word. Better to be in the habit of avoiding that.

To an extent, yes. But it's also driven by ad revenue and what they think might make companies not want to advertise on their product. Subjects like death fall into that category.

There are an estimated 25-50 active serial killers in the United States at any given time.

Built. From the ground up.

I just finished Devil in the White City about his murder spree during the Chicago World's Fair.

Surprisingly antiseptic recitation of his murderous proclivities.

How was it? I just bought it a few weeks ago to read. I've read all about HHH before, but wanted to get into a decent book on serial killer(s), so I grabbed that one.

Since this thread has sort of devolved into naming serial killers that are interesting/fascinating, I'll throw out Robert Hansen. Dude lived in Alaska and spent a decade kidnapping women and flying them to remote wilderness areas there where he would release them and hunt them down like animals.

He murdered at least 17 women, but they found a map that he had with like 37 Xs marked on it, so who knows what the true number really is.

For those who find shite like this fascinating, I'd recommend the Mindhunters book by John Douglas. It's great and goes into some details about a ton of SKs.

From The Silence of the Lambs IMDB:

quote:

After working with former FBI agent John Douglas for some time, Scott Glenn thanked him and said how fascinating it was to have been allowed into his world. Douglas laughed and told Glenn that if he really wanted to get into his world, he should listen to an audio tape of serial killers Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris torturing, raping, and murdering two teenage girls. Glenn listened to less than one minute of the tape, and has since said that he feels he lost a sense of innocence in doing so, and that he has never been able to forget what he heard.

Yea - also a very sadistic vile person. He would put glass tubes up some of the victims' urethras and then break it while it was still in there.
