You're not required to rely on them, or have them look at anything. You're welcome to do it yourself, and argue on your own behalf.
Let me know if the time investment would be worth it to you, or whether you'd rather simply pay someone else who has already invested the thousands, or tens of thousands, of hours such that they can do it vastly better, and vastly quicker, than you can.
You're not paying for the hour; you're paying for the tens of thousands of hours that you don't want to give up.
