In my hometown/county - nobody. In my area it would be the family that owns Drury Inns. They are very nice, charitable, and down-to-earth.

Melancon, puppet master. He’s old, probably selling off the land to the next old money family.

Pendarvis , Dempsey. Crooked but an honest ballsy in your face type.

The family that owns the Sugar Mill off of Hwy 90 East of New Iberia. The few that i’ve met seem nice though.

Are the Cessna's and Beech's still around or all those companies 100% public now?

In Bogalusa it’s the Genco’s. Since they’re Sicilian they’re hereditarily pre-dispositioned to be cultured(see true romance), and since they got money everything they own is garbage and terrible for everyone around them.

In Franklinton there’s an old guard of several families. They got their fancy pants post-desegregation school called bowling green that’s controlled by the company that manages the landfill and the daughter of the folks that started the school. You’re either them or you’re out.

But it’s Washington parish, so if you’re in charge of it congrats. It’s the doormat to Mississippi.

Lafourche - I'd say Bollingers and Chouest.
