We didnt get a VCR until the early 90's and then it was only b/c my dad won it in a raffle. We had cable with the movie channels early on, but my parents had no interest in renting movies.

My car doesn't have adaptive cruise control or blind spot detection. But it's been paid off for years

I didn't have a cell phone or my own computer in college because I couldn't afford it. I graduated in 2000.

,"you hungry? Just throw a meal in the oven and it'll be warm in a half hour"

No sir, just was referring to a laptop, or tower type computer. You are correct though, so I suppose that I do in fact have a computer in a phone. Thanks for the correction.

Parents still don't have cable, satellite, internet or a computer. Finally, about 2 years ago my dad got a smart phone. Mom got one about 6 months ago but she only uses it for calls and text (something she discovered about 6 months ago).

I was born in 1960. We were one of the last families on our block to get a color TV. I think it was 1974. We got cable TV not too long after that.

I'm an electrical / software engineer (techie) but have never been an early adopter. I know enough about reliability and pricing of early models to stay away from those. Quality goes up and prices come down as time progresses.

My home is not a smart home, nor cameras, and never will be. So you can say I haven’t adopted modern technology.

I have only owned an air fryer for about a year now.

is that considered technology?

I have not upgraded a TV in 15 years- so maybe that counts. But the TV's I have still work so I don't see a need to replace them.

I raised by grandparents.

Never had a dishwasher.

Never had a refrigerator that had an ice maker…. Used trays. They finally got a refrigerator with an ice machine, the kind that puts it in your glass( no idea what the proper name is) in 2015.

Their Refrigerator and stove was the old puke green color. Which they bought in the early 70s They were still working in 2015 when they modernized.

My parents didn't have a TV in their home until around 2007.

We've never had any smart thermostats, Alexas, etc. in our home.

Do you find you use less or more toilet paper with a bidet?
I find i still use a lot.

No way everyone uses the fan to dry? It takes so long

Television.

Didnt get one until I was 13 or 14. One of the best gifts my parents ever gave us, a tv free childhood.

An air fryer is definitely relatively new cooking technology in terms of residential kitchen equipment.

Are any of the TVs you own "smart", i.e., can you install apps and stream without attaching any external devices like a Firestick?

I suppose they are still 'new' but it has replaced my microwave. I can't recall the last time I used the microwave now that I think about it.

anything solid that needs heating up- I use the air fryer. For liquids- I use the stove top- so I'd say for sure that the AF replaced my microwave.

they all have smart capabilities - but are not the most recent / superior picture models.

My oldest TVs are 14 years old. My newest tv that is on the wall in my office is a 43 in (I think) and is only 3-4 years old. Oddly enough- I never watch TV in my office. Once my work is done- I 'clock out' and am outta there

My wife and I are both recently retired. We've spent this entire year on remodeling projects, setting our house up to last us for another 20 years or so.

We just recently invested in a couple of new 55 inch LGs. Cost less than $1000 total. Put one in the living room and mounted the other on the wall in our master bedroom. The largest we had before that was 32 inches. I mounted that on the wall in a guestroom.

Got rid of satellite. Everything we watch now is streamed.
