I use a Logitech MX Master 2X with a thumb roller to scroll side to side on the screen. It works exceptionally well for me when using OST for estimating construction projects and navigating the drawings.
Also works very well when reviewing large xl budget sheets.

I use a hamster instead of a mouse
+ Better horsepower to weight ratio
+ No tail to get fouled up in power wheel
+ Herbivore, so disposal unit of carrots I pick out of things

I really like my Logitech M550. I have 2 and they are both connected via bluetooth so I dont have to remember to grab them at home and at work. I really like the feel of it in my hands the click.

Logitech G502 Hero. Over 57K reviews on amazon.
It really depends on what grip style you use though. For me I use a palm grip not a claw style grip. So I've always like a larger mouse.
I had the G500 years ago but when I had to replace it, they no longer made it so I went to the 502 which was a refresh of the 500. I love it. I actually just got my replacement 502 in a couple weeks ago because after 8 years of use my previous 502 the pads under it wore out since i dont use a mouse pad.
It is considered a gaming mouse but i do not game. I also like that i can unlock the scroll wheel to free spin. Its helpful in PDFs with alot of pages and in excel.

Are we talking computer mouse or like what breed of rat to use when you have a torch and metal bucket and you need someone to spill the beans?

M550 with silent touch. It is quiet as a mouse. I cannot stand the loud clicking when people use a mouse (myself included).

I used several over my career…little ones, large ones, wired ones and wireless ones, all kinds of different configurations.
By the time I retired, I had gone back to a basic, wired mouse with two buttons on the top and a ball underneath. Those work on all surfaces are intuitive to use, and batteries never run down during an important presentation.
Sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution.
