Last time I went back I was shocked. Looked like a third world country in much of it

Morgan City has my vote. 70s and 80s were awesome then. Now it sucks
Back when all the parking lots and driveways were clam shells, 2/3rds of the locals wore do rags, and every third building was a bar room, awesome indeed!

I was just about to say Shreveport, sad to see what it has become. Monroe is also a shell of itself.
Ruston is thriving though and the surrounding cities around Shreveport and Monroe are also thriving, i.e. Sterlington, Calhoun, Benton.

Shreveport has an easy, attractive escape route with a moat. Shreveporters can't swim.
Bossier wins.

Most of the responses will be from people who don’t even live in Louisiana.

Not gonna get banned.
And I’m usually the last person to claim those type of things
Sounds like the story of North Baton Rouge lol. Sad but true. I refuse to go North of Florida Blvd for ANYTHING!

Drove through Cairo couple days ago and couldn’t believe how much stuff was closed down along the main drag. Didn’t know it was famous for it.

What Louisiana cities are shells of their former selves?
Posted on 1/25/20 at 10:52 pm to Mufassa
Watch your mouth. You’re talking about the Queen City of the Teche.

While true, I was solely referring to Shreveport.
City really had potential at one time and was a fun place. It's Detroit lite now
