Was looking for a boxer. Owner had this listed as a boxer. I asked and she told me it was a boxer mix. You can sort of see boxer in there I think, but not much.

Maybe it's the camera angle, but doesn't look like a boxer nose. Also doesn't really seem to have that athletic boxer build.

This is a pointer. To me, it looks similar to the picture you gave.

One that needs a new home. Those living conditions are disgusting.

Boxers are cool dogs, but I hate how the breed was engineered to have issues just so it would look more desirable.

quote:

A shorter face means a host of problems. The modern Boxer not only has a shorter face but the muzzle is slightly upturned. The boxer – like all bracecyphalic dogs – has difficulty controlling its temperature in hot weather, the inability to shed heat places limits on physical performance. It also has one of the highest cancer rates.

What kind of dog is a pointer? Don't even think I've heard of it. Would rather more of a full boxer, but torn on whether to pull the trigger on this one or not.

I used to have a boxer. Most loving, loyal, smart dog ever. He had a bark that would scare anybody away but he wouldn't harm a fly. That's what I'm looking for.

The only thing that suggests boxer to me would be the ears. Pointers are bird dogs, so they're very energetic but trainable.

eta: I could definitely see it being a boxer/pointer mix. I think it'd be a solid dog.

It could be aggressive though judging by the conditions. A "breeder" with those kind of standards of living conditions probably mirror those standards in it's breeding.

eta: Of course, that's just going by one picture...

The dog is a 1 year old female. Family supposedly has 5 dogs and 2 cats and are moving and can't keep them all. Said the dog used to be inside but would rather be out with the other dogs.

I don't know anything about a pointer, so I'm sort of leaning towards waiting to find another dog.

I don't think too much American bull dog.

American bull dogs are more pit bull looking.

Pointers are a classic breed. Very smart and capable but probably require an experienced owner. If you know you want something else then by all means get what you want.
