Guys who are just athletes pushing their opinions on everyone and what they feel is right and wrong.
And you're just a guy with an internet connection posting an anonymous message board, so why should anyone listen to your opinion?

Because my opinion is much like many that are being made to feel wrong discussing the reason we feel it’s right to stand.
See Drew Brees
See Drew Brees

I personally will always stand for the flag.... it was the way I was taught and too bad for those who don’t have a clue what that flag represents.....

So is this your opinion?

I mean guy if you haven’t been able to pick a couple men(outside of sports) that you look up to as a person in how they live their lives you haven’t been looking hard enough.
A leader and quality man doesn’t have to be one that everyone recognizes on a social or political platform just someone that I do.

kneeling during the national anthem was done to be disrespectful. now they move the goal posts around to fit their narrative. its like they think the rest of us dont see ghetto logic going on.

The best part about America is that you can feel that way and you can stand. And...someone else can feel the opposite and they can kneel. That’s freedom, baby! I think kneelers are POS, but we are free.

you can stand
Can Drew Brees?
I bet not- partly because he's a slave to the pop culture & politicians who desperately want to shackle the common man, and partly because he is, apparently, far more cowardly than his 2 grandfathers who fought in the war: He stripped himself of his own integrity and values in order to appease his plantation owners, but the most egregious part is that he has done far more than anyone reading this forum to help instill those virtuous values into others. He walked the talk and planted many good seeds, but in the span of 24 hours he let a small swarm of imbeciles burn it to the ground.
And for what? Cowardice is my only realistic answer.
But make no mistake: No matter how many tearful apologies he makes, he did not want to set fire to the values that he, a grown man, has had instilled in to him. Not a single man who ever lived has wanted to perform that literal "suicide of the soul," and anyone who accepts his apologies is telling me that their heart is like that of a slaveowner; for they know better, they know it's a farce, but it doesn't matter because Brees is their "property" now.
And Brees knows that. He bent the knee, and once you do that the only way out is a fight to the death. Hence why I don't believe Brees will stand: He's shown his hand and kissed the feet of his master; I see no way out for him unless he is gifted new fortitude to stand up and attempt a coup d'état.
It's a terrible thing to be forced to give up your dignity: Just like the African slaves were stripped of their freedom and free will (freedom and free will that God Almighty Himself has written onto our hearts and granted us), so too did they have their human dignity stripped also. If even one man (e.g., Drew Brees) is forced to give up his values, assuming they're noble & virtuous values like what DB wanted (wants) to stand for, to a seemingly demonically possessed mob who operates on a false narrative, then it is just as tragic as 200 years' worth of men having the same thing done to them. In a perfect world, every. single. soul. matters.
And that is what is so egregious about slavery, and, likewise, what is so egregious about not being able to stand and pay homage to your own noble values: That God Himself, the God who created Drew Brees like I create this opinion, won't strip even a single man of his own freedoms to pursue life, liberty and happiness- even if the heart and the pursuits are corrupt; who the hell does man think he is to do what God Himself won't do to even one single man?
The biggest tragedy of it all is that we are "this" close to making progress, and yet we the people will ask for more government to fix the problem. You'll do good to find anyone before sunset who hates what the federal government has become as I do, and so I believe- I know- that this is not a police problem, it is a government problem with its people, and it began when a noble, perfect constitution was imperfectly applied by imperfect men. It is a problem of the very essence of what mankind is, was and always will be: Equally free. It is a problem for the people to decide on, but by the looks of it the bureaucrats will, yet again, decide our fate for us.
Time will tell on whether or not we are even allowed to stand, but for now, if Drew Brees is any indication of the lack of fortitude of the citizenry of this country, then I'll venture to say that,
quote:will be more like it going into the future.
you can stand, but not without ramifications to your personal life, but if you kneel when all of your being is against it, then the consequences will be far worse
Me? I'll take a bullet trying to ensure my child's freedoms before I'm willingly shackled, and God Himself is my witness to that. If I kneel then it will because I want to, but in order to appease my convictions, and in the spirit of the rebellious, American blood that runs through me, in the spirit of right and wrong, truth and untruth, I will never kneel to appease what I know is a lie.

I take off my hat,put my hand over my heart and proudly stand for the Anthem.
I do it because I love this country and am proud It's the greatest in the world.
When I look at events it appears that most folks feel the same way.
When I was young they burned the flag in protest of the nam war and the draft, yet our country is still here.Dirty hippies they were called.
We'll be alright, this country has way too many good folks. It's just the "bad" ones we here about.

You people have made standing for the flag with your hand over your chest trashy AF. I always walk to my seats after the anthem because of you mouth breathers.

I think the problem is that some people are being forced into having certain opinions in order to preserve their livelihoods.
If you have the perceived "wrong" opinion on this issue a cartel of 32 business owners might collude together to deny you employment until changing public opinion forces them to issue a statement a few years later acknowledging that you were right all along.
