What it means to Stand for the American flag..

Here is my rant on a beautiful Sunday morning. I like many others are to the point where I don't know if I'm going to be able to stomach pro sports any longer. Guys who are just athletes pushing their opinions on everyone and what they feel is right and wrong.
Just so I don't go in to many directions I guess it's this morning pulling up ESPN.com to read about sports only to have articles with guys like Mayfield and JJ Watt telling me that kneeling for the flag has nothing to do with disrespect towards the military but the oppression and racism towards the Black community.
Okay thanks guys I appreciate your "opinions" we all have a right to have one now let me tell you why I stand for the flag and why I'll continue doing so because of what I feel "in my opinion" it represents.
Standing for the flag has always meant a lot to me since I was a little boy. Taking a moment of silence to respect all the people who not only fought and died for this country but the men and women who continue to fight and it also represents every American who is working hard to build a quality life representing god being a good person and treating all people without prejudice. Standing for the flag to me doesn't mean things are perfect but we are taking pride in what we have done and what we will do to continue growing together as a nation.
We still live in the best country in the world and I'll say it like Tom Cruise in Born on the Fourth of July.
"If you don't like it, Leave it".

The best part about America is that you can feel that way and you can stand. And...someone else can feel the opposite and they can kneel. That’s freedom, baby! I think kneelers are POS, but we are free.

Don’t share that opinion on social media or you may find yourself unemployed and a victim of the twitter mob.

I can respect that position. The question is, can you respect anyone else's position besides yours? You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. The problem this country has run into is that everyone (on both sides) think that their opinion is the only opinion or the right opinion.

I think the problem is that some people are being forced into having certain opinions in order to preserve their livelihoods.

I’m just talking about what I have noticed on social media and other formal outlets that the opinion that I stated above is being pushed to the side like it’s the wrong way to think and feel. That’s my problem.

Well said. Let’s take it a step further and find a solution for all.
How about we all continue to stand for the National Anthem as we all did prior to Colin K.
Either before or after that, those who wish to kneel for social injustices are free to do so.
Hell, they can also kneel while they play the Black National Anthem.
Those who wish to protest can do so any time they wish outside of the plying of the National Anthem.
On a side note, I really don’t give a flying fart what an athlete or movie star promotes or protests. Their opinion is no more valuable than any other persons except maybe to provide insight on their chosen profession.

That is a personal choice. Yeah people are scared of backlash, but I think we would all be surprised at the actual percentage of Americans who are not tuned into this shite at all.

You’re spot on. And to say it’s not about the flag is bullshite. If it’s not about the flag then why do you pick that very moment when people are acknowledging the flag and sacrifices those have made to kneel/protest? You know what a real protest would be not playing at all but you want that money though. You want to benefit from the freedom those who have sacrificed provide but not respect it. Let these fools keep disrespecting our country and see where it gets them.

Honestly for me how many deal with this challenge tells me all I need to know about them. Just not enough leaders in the black community to guide them with quality advice never has been.
