Not being able to graduate college because I quit going to a class but forgot to drop it. It’s been 30 years since Undergrad but somehow I still get this nightmare so it must be my worst fear.

Our society gets to the point where AI does everything, the government hands out flat salaries to people because nobody has a job, and I saved all this damn money for nothing.

Anesthesia is a breeze, you literally don’t have to do anything. I will say that I feel I woke up as a different person or the world seemed different from the one major surgery I had.

Mine is medical anxiety, or fear of surgery, formally referred to as tomophobia.

I had 2 surgeries in the last 3 years and I'm the same way. They will give you something for the anxiety the day of but ask your doctor for something the night before. The stuff works. You'll be chill.

The anesthesia will feel like the best night's rest you ever had.

New fear for you, the inevitable “out of network” bill from the anesthesiologist they choose to use.

I’m really worried about the carbon capture and sequestration bullshite.
There is a high likelihood CO2 injected below our aquifers is going to leak and harm and/or ruin our source of water.
I’m 75 and been living here on my family estate for 26 years now.I’ve go a lot of money and time invested here,I don’t want to h ave to abandon my property and move to another state.Lose my water source,I see no other option.

The LSU PhD scientists say there is no danger of that.

The Titanic was the unsinkable ship, according to the experts.Didn’t complete its maiden voyage.
How many PhDs and scientists worked on the space shuttles. The crews of the the Challenger and Columbia obviously trusted them. How did that work out for them.

More recent - the Covid”vaccinations”.The experts assured us that if you took them you wouldn’t get Covid or pass on infections,it was safe and effective. How did that work out?

The powers running Louisiana are determined we are going to have CCS,all they can see is dollar signs. They are totally oblivious to the possibilty of it going sideways and the ramifiacations of that.

Having to bury my son. I saw how it crushed my parents when my brother died in 2002 and they never recovered. A very close 2nd is getting Alzheimer's. My grandpa had it, now my mom and uncle have it. The trend arrow points directly at me.

Okay, that’s fricking hilarious.

How did recovery go for your friend? It seems like the first 2 nights suck then it’s smooth sailing from there

My children being abducted and murdered. Not a likely outcome, obviously, but one that terrifies me.

More generally, the death of my children or any severe injury or illness that might afflict them.

Also, being diagnosed with some dreadful, incurable neurological malady (like ALS or dementia) that orphans my children when they are still too young to fend for themselves.

Children are a gateway to so much fear and anxiety.

Depressing topic.

Death of a child or my spouse comes first of course. I've seen ticks mentioned but mine is parasites under the skin. Worked at a vet growing up and constantly deworming dogs and assisting with digging maggots out of dogs and cats stuck with me. Human parasites takes it to another level. Starting to sweat a little and whiskers on my face are standing up just typing this out.

Dementia or similar. Took care of my father who had FTD until he passed. Watched him lose the ability to speak. Lose the ability to swallow food then shrivel from being 6'2" 250 lbs to under 120. His last morning I saw the skin mottling start and knew it was over. The worst part was early on when he knew what was happening. I'll never forget the look in his eyes. Really the only thing I fear at this point.
