I've always had a great relationship with my in-laws. I must be the exception.

My FIL is great. He is an extremely rich man who appreciates that I have never asked him anything. Not only that, but since she has been with me my wife hasn't asked for anything. The rest of his children and their spouses basically live off of him. Every Christmas they get pissed that I always get the best Christmas gift.

Great, thankfully. We're fishing buddies and have a bad habit of downing irresponsible amounts of alcohol together at family functions.

Really good guy. My wife had two kids when I met her 27 years ago( married for 25) I think he was happy she married a working man. He has told her many times she was lucky to marry a man that helped raise her kids but in actuality I’m the lucky one. It was great… still is

Mine would give you any and everything he has to help others. Which makes sense bc I’m pretty sure he voted for Hilary, Obama, and Joe. I can’t even hold a political conversation with him, but he is good as gold.

I have a gf of 10 yrs so it counts. Her dad loves me but I think it's b/c he's only 12.5 years older than me(I'm 12.5 years older than his daughter).

Mine has always been a huge fan of mine and honestly he used to aggravate me when I would come in town always wanting to talk and hang out. Since my dad passed away a couple years ago, I look forward to seeing my FIL. Him wanting to spend time with me has become very much appreciated and something I look forward to. I’m very glad to have a father figure still in my life

My father in law is a great person and I'm thankful for the family I married into. He accepted me right from the beginning. He's like a 2nd father to me. They live next door to us and we see them about every evening and usually just sit on the porch and talk. I've told my wife that these are some of the best times right now and we need to embrace it. It's gonna be very difficult when they're gone.

My father in law is an idiot who got married to another woman less than a month after his wife died. He now can’t live on his own because of his medical needs and has burned all bridges with his own blood family.

I hope I never turn into that kind of jackass to my kids.

We have a love hate relationship. He loves to hate on me, he has basically told me that his daughter should have married a guy who worked for him. They dated in high school but only for a few months.

He would do anything for us and our family but it is always something he brings up. When we were married my wife and I bought an older house to remodel, we never payed for any materials. He owned a construction company and would bring us any extra materials. We basically payed cost for a new ac unit after he told the Heating and air company to hook us up or they wouldn’t do anymore in his new houses. It was great when we sold the house we made out like bandits and he refused to take any money in return for all of the material and labor for his guys working on our place.

He has been a surprising good grandfather to both of my sons. He will bend over backwards for anything they want, I can over look the past issues because of that.

I will get a FIL in two months and I couldn’t have handpicked a better one. Never once have we even butt heads.

First time I met him he gave me a sack of oysters and we shucked oysters together

Non-existent. My inlaws have nothing to do with us. My FIL also has nothing to do with his parents and siblings. He's a professor at Clemson and a real winner.

I've never spoken with him. He has basically ignored his kids since they were very young. To their benefit.

My wife has a grandfather figure as hers is deceased. He reminds me of my own paw paw who is also gone.

We probably have 50 years separating us, but we've been best friends since day one

About the only problem I have with him, is that he hasn't accepted that his old liver can't compete with his young heart. And it makes me laugh to no end to see a giant of an old man pissy drunk without meaning to be

We have a great relationship. My FIL is part redneck, part hippie. He's an annual Merlefest attendee and has a love for the outdoors and military history, especially planes. I love this time of year, as my wife and I spend a number of evenings at his house swimming in the pool, eating boiled peanuts and watching Braves games (he's from Cobb County originally).
