I loved him so much. We sadly lost him last year before my wedding to a heart attack (he was 59).
I was fortunate to spend 3 yrs knowing him and I miss him a lot.
He was amazing father to my wife and her siblings. Just a straight down to earth man thay would have a beer with anyone and make them laugh.

Me and my first father in law had the worst relationship I will could have ever imagined hey hated me of course I knew he had molested his children and beaten his wife so i didn't care much for him beating his wife so I didn't care much for him
but he was used to everybody giving in to his whims because of the money I told him from day one he could keep his money and shove it up his arse
it was kind of funny how there was a family rule that nobody leave him alone with the kids but they would never do the right thing for fear of being written out of the will
and my sister in law at the time used to privately just rave about how much I irritated the old man

I hit the in law lottery. My father in law (MIL passed when wife was 18) is amazing. We hunt and fish together. He helps me if I ever need him and I always reciprocate. He’s a great father and grandfather. Since my wife and I have been married we’ve worked hard and saved and never asked him for a dime which I know he’s proud of. My relationship with my dad was never great so he’s always been like a father figure to me. It makes me proud to know he’s proud of his daughter and I and our success and independence.

Been married 3 times and have enjoyed great relationships with all 3 of the guys who were my father-in-laws at the time.
All 3 of them are now long gone and I must say, my current wife's late father was a prince of a man and he couldn't have loved me any more than if I was one of his sons.
It tore at me when he passed 10 years ago come this September.

My father-in-law was a great dad & I’m grateful my husband was raised by him. I actually knew him a couple of years before I met my husband. He passed away 4 years ago & I’ll grieve for him for the rest of my life.

Yea, that is fricked is.
You think it’s kind of funny and you married into a family that will allow molestation of children for money

I have a great relationship with my FIL. He comes over all the time just to talk and have a cup of coffee. He is 87 y/o and fit as a fiddle. My dad passed away 10 years ago and my FIL has become my father figure. He can be a horse's arse but I sure love that guy.
Same here except mine is 58. When my dad passed he was there for me a lot and really turned into a father figure to me. I love him as if he was my own dad. He’s always wanting to take our daughters for the weekends all the time

Gfs parents don’t exist so some good and bad with that.

My “Daddy in law”, I’m from East Tennessee, is one of the those “I don’t have anything to do? I think I’ll buy some mulch.” types. I’m a nothing to do, go buy a twelve pack and watch some movies type. We figured out how to get along though, and he’s a good man, so I’m good.

It’s weird. He and her have a strained relationship, but he always pretends everything is peaches and cream. Doesn’t seem to want to own up to his mistakes. I don’t really want anything to do with him, but I don’t get between him and my wife. If she wants to try to make things work, fine. He is her father, in the end. But her expectations are getting lower.

It’s good. He’s a great guy that raised a wonderful family. Has done really well for himself. I respect the hell out of him. He’s done so much for me and my wife. He’d do anything for us.

My FIL is a now retired oilfield coonass from da berry. I’m an attorney in S FL. We couldn’t have a better relationship. He’s such a good man and we get along great. He probably posts on the OB.

FIL is Puerto Rican, loves to fish drink beer, and BBQ. We get along great, even with his broken English. Our favorite pastime is taking a shot of tequila every time the wife(no pics to our thirsty freaks) or MIL(no pics either) yells at either of us. I wish my dad was still alive because we could definitely be the 3 Amigos

Polite even friendly but not in any way fatherly. More like a friendly old acquaintance at church or maybe a great uncle.
