Boston (Charlestown) to New Orleans (then over to Baton Rouge).

I imagine it was akin to being in a Khmer Rouge camp operated by a bunch of "students" under the age 15.

This was in the 80's, so can't remember exactly how much.... I think like $85

If school buses count in your question, I took a bus from the Denali National Park (Alaska near Mt. McKinley, aka, Denali) entrance to Wonder Lake inside the park.

It was 174 miles round trip.

I took a bus once from Wisconsin to Louisiana. Greyhound.

It was in my top 3 of worst experiences of my life.

Norco to Vicksburg in 8th grade. Hot as hell and one of the two bussed broke down and we had to double up in one bus about half way there.

We didn't really notice the inconvenience though.

Greyhound from Tampa to NO, 30 years or so ago. Weird people on there along with some very nice folks.

5th Grade, 1990. Mrs. Miller's class at Buchanan Elementary. Baton Rouge to DC. It was a helluva lot of fun. Two classes went - Miller's and Mrs. Edmonson's. Someone puked on their bus, and was told it smelled like puke the whole trip. That made me appreciate our bus even more.

Second longest - Baton Rouge to Nashville to see LSU play Vanderbilt. Left around midnight, watched the game midday, back in BR around midnight.
This would have been 1997 or 98. Ole War Skule caravan. That was helluva lot of fun, too.

Will never forget it. I was going into my senior year of HS and went to soccer camp at Auburn in the summer. Camps ends Friday at 3 and I have to catch a Greyhound at 7. Have a 2 hour layover in the Atlanta bus terminal (as bad or worse than you imagine) from 11P-1A. Bus leaves at 1am as an express to Augusta, GA then travels along the river at gets to my hometown of Savannah at 6 am Saturday. Don’t believe I slept at all.

Side note- could you imagine a 16-17 year old making this trip by him/herself in this day and age? It’d never happen.

Those bus rides from Odessa to Houston must have sucked for a football game. I’m sure now they all take big charter buses, but I couldn’t imagine being on one of those yellow buses, going across Texas for however many hours that is.
