Are you talking about an Osprey?
No. Osprey are much much smaller.
Eta...quick Google search shows I've been led astray.
I'll have to find out what bird I'm thinking of. I've only seen them in WA at marinas.

There have been some good ones posted.
My true favorite is probably Swallow-tailed Kites, but also intrigued by these bastards:
Loggerhead Shrikes...the Butcher Bird...predatory songbird...hang their meals on sharp things like thorns or barbed wire.

Most Woodpecker species look for both insects and sap when they are pecking on trees. If you see a tree with multiple rings of holes on it, you can actually tell what part of the year the woodpeckers (or sap suckers) made the holes. Round or circular holes are made in the fall of the year when the sap is running down the tree. Gravity helps out greatly and the hole doesn't need to be big. In the spring, when the sap is rising in the tree, the hole is larger and more of a square shape. This allows more sap to be drawn out by the bird.

Those Brits managed to screw alot of our native and migratory birds in North America. Some dumb Brit moved here during Victorian times and he and his friends missed the birds of their home. So, they decided to bring every species of bird mentioned in Shakespeare's works to our country and release them in parks. Only two species managed to survive:
The European Starling and the common House Sparrow.
They have become a plague upon the entire continent.

I like watching these dudes do their thing in the winter, around my camp.

Osprey. Here’s a few I took from my backyard. Owls are cool as shite too but I never have my camera when I see them in the daytime

I get some herons in the back yard as well. That downed pine tree is courtesy of hurricane Michael

Yep. Same here. They shouldn't be here. I've seen sparrows take over blue bird boxes, kill the babies, and build their own nests right on top of the dead babies. Nasty indeed.
They haven't bothered my Martins much, but keeping the starlings out of the Martin gourds is a challenge. Fortunately, I haven't really had many persistent ones.
