Journeyman Wireman, doing mostly commercial and industrial electrical construction and maintenence.
I got my certs in instrumentation last year and am going to go that route and get away from the heavy work.
There will probably always be more demand than supply for a good instrument techs, and the pay's not bad either, especially if you don't mind working overtime. Six figures is not that hard to attain if you hustle a little. It beats the hell out of running 4" rigid conduit in August.

People that can look at drawings/schematics understand what is supposed to be going on, then take that knowledge and install, modify, or repair something are rapidly becoming scarce while the need for them grows daily.
